We have have a storage unit with country club storage since Nov of 2016. Initially it was a 10x20…read morefor $102 a month , but we went through the unit Aug of 2017 and sold alot of the stuff so we could downsize to a 5x10 for $62 a month. They automatically take payments from my bank account. Well there was a tornado that came through May of 2019 and totally destroyed the 2 business on each side of the storage units and we figured that if anything had happened to the storage units they would have contacted us to let us know. We never got a call or email from country club storage saying anything like that, however I did get a call from them saying that someone had tried to break in our storage so they changed the lock on my storage and I needed to come in and get a new key from them. Well we moved from where we were living and decided to come clean out that storage and get a larger one closer to home and we found one that was twice as big for the same amount of money at one that was closer to us so, we rented a trailer and went over there, and not only was the lock changed but we couldn't get in cuz they also changed our code for the gate as well. . So we had to call them to come let us in. When we finally got in we got to our unit and started noticing that there was was damage all on the side of the unit and that there was several units that had tarps covering them and there was stacks laying around of doors that had been replaced. So in other words there was alot of signs of damage from the tornado. When my husband got the door and open our storage unit there was broken glass everywhere and our unit was filled with mud about 18" deep, he told my husband that he was busy that day and couldnt go through our storage with us at that moment but if my husband would call him the next day (friday) that he would come back and help my husband with knowing what to do with everything. So my husband called him first thing the next day Friday Aug 30th and Jeremy (manager)would not take his call. We told them that we didnt want them taking the payment for Sept, we were there to clear out the storage and needed to have Jeremy there to go through everything. Also since we had rented the trailer to clear out the storage, we felt that considering the situation they should reimburse us for the trailer as well. Well they took their payment anyways!! My husband has called them everyday atleast twice aday and spoke to the other employees and left messages for Jeremy to call him back and to this day Jeremy (the manager of Country Club Storage Units) has not returned his calls. We still have not cleared the unit out cuz we still need to have someone from this business to help us to know what to do. It's such POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! They should have let us know that the unit had recieved damage and given us the opportunity to go over there immediately to asses the situation. We are not done with this as of today Sept 15th 2019. I will update this review as soon as I have more info. Thanks for taking the time to read my complaint.

The Storage Center lists their origin as "Established in 2021", which is true to the sale of the facility. Originally this establishment was locally owned and operated as Shepherd Self Storage. I never had any issue with Shepherd Self Storage. Since The Storage Center took over operation of the facility service has declined and the cost of my unit has gone from $70/month to $132/month. My unit has been broken into twice since 2021. The lanes between the buildings are narrow and frequently blocked by other tenants accessing their units. There are lots of other places out there and I wouldn't recommend The Storage Center.
