Not bad. Good prices on Latino foods as usual and friendly staff. Not quite as good of a selection as other El Ranchos though.

Thanks for being so helpful today and getting me some special beef from the back for my…read morepot roast because it actually is the best I've ever made and I'm sure the meat has a lot to do with it! I also bought my first oxtails despite having enjoyed my chef gmas recipe my whole life, I shall try to do it justice! I will definitely be trying the bacon next time and can't wait to cook these oxtails! I love the Dallas farmers market and I'm looking forward to becoming a regular for sure! Cya next time!

You could probably count the number of places where real meat butchery is done in the DFW Metroplex…read moreon two hands. We have a new addition in American Butchers at the Dallas Farmer's Market. These folks know their way around meat. I grew up in the heart of Amish and Mennonite country in Kansas. Butchers and smokers of meat down through the years, you could always get quality cuts of meat and sausages from cattle that never saw a feed lot and pigs from optimal conditions. Years ago when I moved to Dallas, I found Rudolph's Meat Market in Deep Ellum right away to get cuts of meat for special occasions as well as Kuby's and other purveyors for quality meats. American Butchers is a collective of Nebraska ranching and farming families that is marketing their Artisan meat here at the Farmer's Market and I can tell you their meat is beautiful. Half and quarter cows are brought here to Dallas and can be butchered to your specifications; but what they have in their cases is wonderful. All of the meat looks perfect. They had cooked some samples of flank that were soooo tender. We bought some Jalapeño Cheddar Summer Sausage for $9.99/pound that was lean but delicious. You could see the diced Jalapeño in it and chunks of cheddar cheese. We also brought home a lean black pepper salami that was equally as good. We'll be back to shop some more. I was very impressed both with the meat and their professional and knowledgeable service.

Doesn't really fit strollers or wheelchairs but they really fill every nook and cranny of space! I met Ari last week and he was wonderful, made me want to check out his shop. The girl working today was wonderful- super friendly and helpful. (Im sorry i forgot her name!) I expected the shop to be all pantry goods but they had a ton of fresh and frozen goods as well! You can be produce, including herbs, all sorts of drinks, dips, meats, cheeses, frozen meals, etc. i tried a fresh BAT with their house made ciabatta and it was so yummy. The jalapeno pimento cheese dip was so good. I cant wait to go back and try more items! Today they were sampling a champagne and aged gouda which were both delish and if you spent over $50 you got a free block of cheese. This is a true gem in the heart of oak cliff and i will be back for groceries and gifts. I cant wait until i have more room in my fridge/freezer to try some of the meals and pastas. I grabbed some recipe cards as well! Oh- if you like olives, they have a whole section of different varieties. This shop is a foodies dream!

I was brought back a couple of beef tacos & they were super good. Seasoned well with everything else (cilantro, onions, etc) to the side. The green sauce was good. Paired well with the tacos & I also tried it with the sliced cucumbers. The cucumbers were what I enjoyed most out of all. They balanced out everything with the slices coming at a good amount to work with the beef tacos.

This is the scariest yet most AWESOME place I've ever been in my life…read more It's right in the heart of the Oak Cliff Latino area and boy do I love it!!!! It's a dodgy little grocery store fit with a cafe right inside . The entire back wall is lined with meat...from Pig's Ears to Cow Tripe to Carnitas to Pork. They sell beef and pork that is already marinated, we love it! Take it home, throw it on the grill...VOILA homemade fajitas. Amazing. It's the kind of place that would make Anthony Bourdain's head explode. They have cojita cheese, fresh made guacamole salsa, original salsa (eh), homemade sour cream sauce, even the little tortillas you get at the taqueria stands then of course a produce section. Mango's, coconuts...mmm *head explodes* In the middle are aisles just like at a grocery store. But in one aisle you can get paper towels and the next you can get your very own 1/2 gal tub of lard! Hooray! Seriously, they sell everything!! EVERYTHING! Oh and don't forget on the way out as an impulse buy, to go ahead and stock up on condoms and LA Looks hair gel. Rad. ADIOS!
