Definite small-town vibes here. Didn't eat, but the pervasively Spanish-speaking staff makes me think it's worth a shot the next time we're in town. 5 stars, no complaints. The Texas Fajitas were very good, my wife's Shrimp on the Beach were not, the margarita was just ok. Now for the bad, the service was horrible, I would guess close to two hours to order and get our food. No one was really waiting on us, we had to go inside to ask for things. Drinks, chips and salsa were never refilled even after we had asked for refills. My wife and I shared the one water we received. The bathrooms were dirty and the service was nonexistent. When the waiter brought out our food he was confused about where it went which was pretty obvious because the rest of the table was piled with dirty dishes ( we were with a group that had gotten their food earlier).

Continue south a couple of miles on IL 130 to the middle of nowhere and it is there that you, my friend, will find Mis Tres, a cantina oasis in the middle of corn. Mis Tres is by every measure a Tex Mex like any other you will find stamped into nearly every single small town and city in Southern Illinois, with a couple of exceptions. The portions they serve are quite generous. Much food will be served to you. Although the guacamole seemed to turn a little gray. Likewise, this is a very large place. Complete with booths, long tables, a bar, Mis Tres would make a great location for a large party. Food is typical Tex Mex menu, with no surprises or frills, but quite good. I'll also mention Mis Tres is very clean and tidy, a feat for how large the space is. Bright, cantina theme happening inside. Recommend! And happy Cinco!
