Pupuseria El Salvadoreno - Pupusas Plate

I was craving some pupusas and tamales and dragged my mom here while I was in town. It was late…read moreafternoon on a weekend and the place was PACKED and carry out was also really busy, so I knew we were in the right place. We placed an order easily for some pupusas and tamales to go and waited about 15-20 minutes. Additionally, the prices can't be beat for such great food. It's bright and lively inside and full of lots of staff keeping up with the demand. On to the food, these tamales were the best I've ever had. The masa was so light and fluffy and the chicken and sauce was savory and delicious. My mouth is watering just typing this, I could eat them every day. The pupusas were griddled to perfection, packed with melted cheese and pork, served with a fresh side of flavorful curtido full of oregano and that tasty red salsa. We only got two and the cashier was surprised and I discovered why-- two is not enough. They are so good. Highly recommend this spot if you're in need of some authentic Salvadoran food.

Being so busy it was a little loud but pleasurable. Overall a great spot for large or small groups. Plenty of menu options, both Salvadorean and Mexican. Great customer service as well. Thanks you!!

El Pope - Burrito grande. There was a sweet-flavored sauce or something to it and it wasn't the best. But the steak was great!

I wish I would have gotten more over the shrimp tacos however the tacos weren't bad but didn't live up to other things. The shrimp were pretty big and grilled. Hands down going back for papusas. Best meal I've had locally in a min. The restaurant is very relaxed but it was also lunch time. No one greeted me. Had to walk to the bar for service and seat myself. Aside from the that the server was really nice. It's just an old school hole in the wall joint.

My partner and I both got their steak offerings with myself getting a steak chimichanga and him getting a steak burrito. They were both oozing with flavor, we both made audible "yum" sounds as we took our first bites and then laughed at how this food made us have a cartoon moment. The fries and beans sides were also good although the fries were our favorite, the menu doesn't offer this as a side for meals but our server was able to make the substitution. We left feeling super lucky that lovely family restaurants like this exist and that we got to experience their food. Can't reccomend this spot enough, they truly care about what they are putting out and it shows. If thats not enough to convince you they also give you free chips and salsa!

I was on a short trip to Williamsburg and ate here lunch and dinner both in the same day, ordered the exact same thing: Pollo Cameron and a mango margherita. They were both so gooooood. I tried a few other stuff like beef and cheese nacho thing and three different kinds of pupusas. All so very good. Maybe one day I might actually move to this town so I can enjoy their delicious food whenever I feel like. 5 freaking stars.

So, let's find out how the visit went. There weren't a lot of people inside and there was only one waitress attending to tables. They have a bar area, tables and booths. We decided to eat near the entrance to their supermarket. It took a while for us to roam through the menu, but decided on what we wanted a few minutes after getting seates. I chose a 1/2 chicken with two sides (fried yucca and french fries). The Peruvian chicken was pretty good and flavorful. Both the fried yucca and fries could've been seasoned more, but were plentiful. I actually saved half of my meal for takeout and tasted well for dinner. Unfortunately, the bad part of our visit was the decor. The restaurant is located in a strip mall which has seen better days. Seats at the booth are torn up.....literally. The tables are outdated. The floor is in pretty bad shape, especially near the bar area. And in the bathroom, the paper towel dispenser was not connected to the wall and instead, laying on the floor. It's not comfortable washing your hands and then turning it sideways where you can get paper. I really don't mean to sound mean,, but the decor alone would turn folks away. It needs a big renovation all around. Hopefully, down the road, they can upgrade or they may become a thing of the past :(

The name of this market has been changed to: Cielito Lindo, which is a popular Spanish song and…read moreroughly translated means "Lovely Sweet One" although "cielo" means heaven and "lindo" means pretty - combined this phrase is typically a term of endearment. This tidy little Latino market carries many Hispanic, Mexican and South American products. Being of Cuban descent, I frequently head to this site for Goya products, including rice, black beans, plantains, Adobo spices, coffee, Maria cookies, fresh fruits and veggies, tomato items, empanada shells and my "never be without" Mojo Criollo Goya marinade. This marinade truly is the spice of life and I use it in many of my recipes! You will also find baked goods, household items, and sundries at this store. There's a deli/butcher in the back and a frozen food section. There's also a small restaurant and pupuseria serving Latin fare, from Cuban sandwiches to tacos to tostones to tamales to yucca to soups/sides and more. They serve Cuban coffee, horchata, Latin sodas, and other drinks and some tempting desserts, like flan and tres leches cake. For an inexpensive, quick bite in a casual, no nonsense eatery with lots of festive atmosphere, you've gotta try Cielito Lindo, it really is "a slice of heaven". And not to worry if you don't speak Spanish, some of the folks there speak English. ¡Provecho!
