When we arrived there was no host, and several people were waiting around. It seemed like no one had been acknowledged until I stepped in to ask. The attitude came across as arrogant and we experienced a similar vibe from the waitstaff. But on a recent trip, due to COVID restrictions and early curfew, we ordered takeout for dinner pretty much every night--when not snacking on jamon and cheese and olives. Tapas don't really work for takeout, so we decided to try pizza, Indian food, Chinese, etc. Our first experience was takeout from Viva Napoli, a nearby pizza spot in the Cabanyal. We ended up ordering two different pizzas, and both were surprisingly delicious. Crust was cooked nicely and the toppings were high quality. Definitely a pleasant find and much better than the pizza I had in Jerez once...but we'll save that story for another day. So if you find yourself in the Cabanyal, after a long day on the beach and exploring the beautiful neighborhood, and you're craving pizza, Viva Napoli will get the job done. Big time.

At first the female owner was kinda rough in her body language and the way she spoke. We were intimidated but the place was packed so we knew the food was good. We pushed thru. Then she started talking to us and then her hubs came over and told us their story and how the restaurant came about. We love them!! They totally won us over and the meal was just so darn good. It was like having dinner with your favorite grandparents. The hubs gave us some fresh tomatoes from his garden and educated on different varieties. My teen son who hates tomatoes literally ate them all! They are that good. Best Italian food I have had in my life.
