had high hopes but was disappointed..... took my family here and ordered my son the strawberry drink I had seen on their IG with whip cream and candy and all he got was a blended strawberry drink, when I asked about the rest they said they were out of whip cream. The food was overpriced, my seafood tostada was $30 and wasn't all that great, my husband got camarones a la diabla and it was just a bunch of hot sauce with jalapenos....not what he expected. Decent family run traditional Mexican restaurant. Hard to find in Watsonville, this nice little place offers abundant parking, waitress service, and complimentary chips, salsa, and bean dip. Food was above average and location was relatively clean save for a dirty kitchen floor. Decorations were classy, and booths were high backed for privacy. They serve beer here and take credit and debit cards. I liked the chips here and the salsa was obviously homemade and incredible. Waitress was polite and friendly. Their catering ability is limited which is too bad as I am planning a party for my Dad coming up and would have used them if they had a more robust catering menu and service. Every time I eat here I always feel like I'm eating dinner at the owner's house. They make you feel like you're getting a home cooked meal. My favorites are the pork chile verde and the fish and shrimp caldo. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Earlier today my husband and I went to this restaurant. It's unfortunate that we won't be going back there anymore. My husband ordered a Chile relleno and I ordered a Coctel de camarón and let me tell you that my husband left to the restaurant to threw up he found paper inside his Chile. On the other hand my coctel had a long hair! Ugh we were so disgusted. When we told the girl what we found she said "sorry we can't do anything about it." We were so upset we had already paid and they didn't even offer us another plate or a beer or something else. Poor customer service the people making the food clearly weren't wearing hairnets. Love this little local gem. The food can be a little pricey, but I stick to lunch specials and a la carte. The food is excellent and the service even better. "The Girls" are happy and efficient. I enjoy watching them work together. This place specializes in fresh fish dishes, but I am a big fan of their pork and chicken. Everything is fresh and not greasy. Don't go there for their wine selection. THE white wine might come with an umbrella, all sorts of different glasses and warm. Beers are abundant and served with tomato ceviche and shrimp. Ate here for the third time in the last ten days....so I can officially opine on my experience. I find the prices a bit high given the neighborhood...but the food is terrific so it is what it is. Staff is friendly....if not a bit harried. Salsa is straight up terrific with bits of avocado in it. Would prefer my chips a bit saltier....but I can add it at the table. The chile verde is good; prices are steep. I stopped in for a to- go order of chile verde. It was only available as a dinner plate with rice and beans, but for $15.99 I assumed there would be enough to share. There wasn't, really. The ambience is nice, for a strip mall-- with murals and fun decor and one huge tv screen (is that authentic?) I got my ten-minute telenovela fix, meanwhile I noticed many guests had beer cocktails. I really recommend the mariscada for 2-3 people and the Camarones al mojo de ajo! .. Their food portions are so worth the money even for the kids menu.. This placed was hyped up to me and I was not impressed. I live in San Jose where you could find an authentic Mexican restaurant on almost any corner, so coming here and trying this place did not live up to the hype. The service was quick and friendly. My "chavela" drink seemed watered down, there was very little to no carbonation in my beer. I ordered the camarones a la diabla plate and it wasn't spicy at all and it lacked some flavor. The worst food and service I've ever had. Waitress forgot my water and part of my order, couldn't find her so I went up to the counter to nicely ask the cook for what I needed. He was completely RUDE. My daughter couldn't eat her burrito because it was terrible, when asked if there was a problem with it, she said it was a little spicy to be nice. Waitress must of told chef because he stood there and glared at me to the point that it scared me. He was obviously trying to intimidate me. We didn't deserve to be treated that way.
