Thank goodness someone gave us this recommendation when we visited for a week in Chelem! It's a block off the main road, and is a cute place with lots of flavor and sass in the perfect amounts. Everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome, and we walked away with great conversations and local recommendations for our trip. We had the bang bang shrimp lettuce cups one night (they were divine), but those dirty martinis was the highlight for me - thanks JB)! Come for the drinks/food/live bands/karaoke, and stay for the great people who both work and congregate here. Thanks David/Tamaha/Jean Baptist for your hospitality :) read more

Came here on a Friday evening to celebrate my birthday and we're so glad we did! Got here at 7:30pm for live music at 8:00pm. First concert of the year on January 26. Almost didn't get in as this place is very popular and fills up at about 7:00pm. Ticket prices for the live music evenings are 70 pesos at the door or 50 pesos in advance. Think we were charged 50 even though we bought them at the door. Thank you! Found a table with two spare seats and made two new friends. Got almost the last seats in the house. Our waitress Gayla was exceptional! So friendly despite appearing to be rushed off her feet. All the wait staff support each other well. We met one of the owners a few times and the atmosphere here is lively and friendly. The music can be loud if you sit near the stage but it was perfect for us. The band, this night, was Squid Roe, former(?) professional musicians from the US, Canada and Mexico, performing mostly cover versions of classic rock songs. Flawless, fun and perfectly matched to the (seemed like) 50-70 years old crowd! It was wonderful! The food was good drinking food, fish and chips and chicken salad. Somehow we missed out on the coleslaw. Next time! The audience was entirely localized ex-Pats and I'd say not a word of Spanish was spoken all night! Great place and definitely a fun venue to hang out in if you're looking for an evening party! They have a full entertainment calendar, look for their Facebook page for details. read more

Used to be Lizard Joes but new owners and new restaurant. Great updated decor and atmosphere: beach pub. Waitstaff is friendly and speaks English and is attentive. Food and entertainment are great. Mostly pub fare like sandwiches but good, tasty variety. Gluten-free is possible but limited choice. Drinks were tasty as well and this place is beachfront. Good for lunch or dinner. Popular ex-pat hangout. read more
