Very friendly staff and enjoyable introduction to dining in Czechia. Some quick notes: they don't have someone to seat you, so just go in, maybe make eye contact with the bartender so they know you exist, and find a table. Sooner or later someone comes to take your order; after my garbled attempt at Czech ("Muzete me listenu jedlo prosim..."), the waitress let us know she spoke English. Ordered the pork knuckle and the duck. Both were slightly overcooked, but very tasty with generous proportions (we probably could have ordered one and an appetizer, which would have been more than enough). Good choice of local beers: Since you can get Pilsner Urquel in the US, I went for the Krusovice ("kroo-sho-veet-seh") as my introduction to Czech beers. One note: Czech beers tend to be lighter (pilsner, of course) and hoppier.

At first we were afraid since it looks more like a pub to drink some beer and not like a good restaurant but it was suprisingly better than we have aspected. This was sadly the only restaurant we could find near our dou hotel besides the one in the hotel itself but we were nevertheless very happy to find this cheap place, which has many traditionall dishes. It was also surprisingly good for this cheap price. On the next day i tried the one at the duo hotel, which was way better but also more expansive.

I suggest installing Google Translate before visiting the restaurant and to download full language pack which will provide a better precision of translation. The chashushuli (veal with stewed vegetables) was. the better of the two seemingly identical looking stews. Each is a rather large serve for one person. The summer salad was good but expensive at 239-259 czk for the portion size. One star deduction for disinterested service/LOUD ambient noise and Another one star deduction because my companion's salad arrived at the same time as the main meal rather than when my salad was dropped off by a non-English speaking food runner 10 minutes prior.

Both were great tasting well presented dishes. My travel companion had the Salami pizza. She said it was the best she's had, and she ate every bite! I like the ambience of the place, consistently pleasant staff (uncommon in the Czech Republic) and honest hearty food (but not the stodgy Czech classics). I love the location. True, you have to drive or to walk to get there (about 3 min from tram stop "Nad Trojou" or 10 min from metro "Kobylisy") but you will be rewarded by the quiet relaxing atmosphere of this establishment. The interior is nicely decorated and the outdoor seating is lovely, even fitted with a children sandbox to cater for families. I recently organized a walk for a group of 30 people, mainly non-Czech speakers, and asked "Na krasne vyhlidce" to prepare a dinner for us. They were very helpful and accommodating from the start.They offered to prepare a special menu just for us to ensure nobody waits for food too long. In the end, 40 of us turned up. Despite of this surprise the staff of three waitresses managed to serve us very professionally, fast and with smile. And the food was a delight. I really enjoyed my ratatouille! Well done!
