We were driving through the area and decided to detour to catch dinner since it was getting late…read more After a search on Yelp we decided that Mexican would be a safe bet and this place had decent reviews. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday night but the place was buzzing. They did have a patio but it was not very inviting so we went inside. The service was friendly and very quick. I started with a draft Pacifico - $4 for 16 oz. Not bad. The salsa with the free chips was not my favorite - it was too much like tomato sauce - rather odd. My wife ordered three ala carte enchiladas- one beef, one chicken, one cheese for $9. I got the enchiladas supreme - four types with lettuce, and sour cream for $13. Overall the enchiladas were good not great. If you wanted sides of rice and beans each was over $3 which seemed pricey. I know everything is expensive these days but... The food was solid but nothing special.

We had the regular size margaritas, frozen and they were amazing but also HUGE. We also had steak and nachos, everything was really delicious. The guacamole was the one thing I did not think was fresh-tasting and it was definitely an understatement of the menu. Our servers were generally nice, but they rushed us a bit and didn't do great at water refills. My biggest complaint is that even across the way, I could smell the bathrooms, that bleach hair freshening, toilet cleaner smell. It was a bit overwhelming and definitely not what I want where I eat. I think we would go back if in the area again.

They have big portions I ordered the Allegra Chimi which is one huge chimi I chose ground beef ordered a strawberry margarita as they didn't have rasberry they were out a few flavors I like my sour cream and quac so I ordered a large certainly had enough of quac they didn't really give me enough sour cream in my mind a little inky dinky thing. Other than these two gripes rice and beans were inside the chimi I think I like them better separate but they put it all together and I love that they drown it in a white cheese queso of some sort a cactus salad on the side... it was pretty good but there were my thoughts I wish they could have provided me a refill never got a chance to have a second drink but was a pretty decent night out I did like the salsa and chips... Marking the entrance is a glorious tribute to "Our Lady of Guadalupe" it's just breathtaking. The food prepared is some of the best I've ever had. The employees are muy agradable y educado, te sientes como su familia. The produce was uber fresh and brightly colored like the decorum. The meat market had the most gorgeous fresh meat I've ever seen. (Raw meat rarely gets a rise out of me but I just have to say WOW!!) there ar on site to cut specialty cuts any way you need. There is a decent selection of every grocery item you would find at "Whole Foods" at cheaper prices. Piñatas line the aisles hanging above in bright festive colors. There's a small liquor store inside with the local favs and imports from Mexico too. Overall I found this to be the friendliest, cleanest, ethnic grocery store I've ever been in. A dive bar in the middle of nowhere with delicious Mexican food and cold beer that isn't crowded and over priced like so many places in Madison? I have died and gone to heaven. From the salsa and guacamole to the entrees of Chicken Mole and burrito - this is the real deal. This is epic, divorce causing type of food. My wife has already warned me and I am already planning my next visit. This is a classic Wisconsin dive bar, where the restroom sink is in the main dining room, and it looks like you have stepped back a few decades - but that is part of the charm, and the food makes any misgivings about the ambiance entirely worth it. Normally I wouldn't reveal such a secret and mystical place, but it's location ensures the normal Madison food crowd has to take a real hike to find it, and it won't be overrun. Get there.
