The guacamole was the one thing I did not think was fresh-tasting and it was definitely an understatement of the menu. Our servers were generally nice, but they rushed us a bit and didn't do great at water refills. My biggest complaint is that even across the way, I could smell the bathrooms, that bleach hair freshening, toilet cleaner smell. It was a bit overwhelming and definitely not what I want where I eat. Marking the entrance is a glorious tribute to "Our Lady of Guadalupe" it's just breathtaking. The food prepared is some of the best I've ever had. The meat market had the most gorgeous fresh meat I've ever seen. (Raw meat rarely gets a rise out of me but I just have to say WOW!!) there ar on site to cut specialty cuts any way you need. There is a decent selection of every grocery item you would find at "Whole Foods" at cheaper prices. Piñatas line the aisles hanging above in bright festive colors. There's a small liquor store inside with the local favs and imports from Mexico too. Overall I found this to be the friendliest, cleanest, ethnic grocery store I've ever been in. This is a classic Wisconsin dive bar, where the restroom sink is in the main dining room, and it looks like you have stepped back a few decades - but that is part of the charm, and the food makes any misgivings about the ambiance entirely worth it. Normally I wouldn't reveal such a secret and mystical place, but it's location ensures the normal Madison food crowd has to take a real hike to find it, and it won't be overrun. Get there.
