We spent several days in Granada and stayed at El Granado. We were checked in by Mauricio who gave us a map of the city and pointed out several interesting sights and good areas to wine and dine.
We had room H2, located in the top floor (for handicapped people, it is worth noting that this hostel does not have an elevator) with a small balcony facing the street. An A/C and a fan was present. Room was of good size and had a comfortable bed.
Apart from chairs and tables, the common room also included a well stocked kitchen and fridge. Laundy service was €4 and drying the same price, although drying is hardly necessary in the summer heat.
El Granado is located within walking distance of the Granada cathedral, as well as Alhambra, Albayzin and Sacromonte (the latter three are also easily reached by minibuses from Plaza Nueva and the Isabel statue, both also close to the hostel). Being located close to the cathedral means you are also to restaurants, tapas bars, wine bars, supermarkets and the San Agustin fish/meat/cheese/fruit and vegetable market and everything else you might need for your stay in Granada.
WiFi in all rooms as well as common room.
All in all I am very satisfied with El Granado and its owners and employees. Everyone we met were helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended. read more
