    Salmon ... Delicious

You hear all this talk about Guanajuato having amazing food. I'm here to tell you that's it's not a myth! We decided to try El Rincon Gaucho because of its YELP reviews and I'm glad we did. We arrived at the restaurant at about 5:30pm and it was packed out the door. We didn't have time to wait because there were 7 tables in front of us and we had a soccer game to catch (Leon vs Cruz Azul). So a waiter we ran into, so graciously walked us to the front of the restaurant and made a reservation for us after the game. Sure enough, when we went back after the game our table was ready. Service was a little slow due to a full house. They start off with complementary rolls (bolillo) and 3 different spreads, they were all tasty but all too spicy for me. We ordered an appetizer - grilled provolone cheese topped with a roasted tomato slice, olive oil and finished with oregano seasoning. Very tasty and If you're a cheese lover it's a must. I couldn't decided between their homemade pasta or their salmon ... so I ordered both. I asked for pesto pasta and they were out of pesto so I settled for butter and garlic. It was ok. I was a little disappointed, the pasta was over cooked. Then again I like my pasta al dente. It's a good thing that their salmon dish made up for it. It was a very generous portion, the salmon was cooked perfectly and drenched in chimichurri sauce, capers for the perfect salty touch, and artichoke hearts that were so soft they practically melted in your mouth. Yummmmmmmmmm!!! My husband ordered the original gaucho steak, did I say generous portion???? Huge !!!! Soft like butter. We finished our meal with two slices of cake, one chocolate and one tres leches. Nothing to rant about. All in all, i can't wait to make another trip to Leon, GTO.

What lovely place. It was crowded yet comfortable. The staff was quick to help and attentive to our needs. The food was very good. They have two play areas for children and staff to supervise the kids, while parents enjoy their meal. The desse desserts looked really delicious, there was ice cream and lots of fancy pastries. I'm so glad we took the suggestion and tried this place. And will definitely return when I am in Leon.

The best resturaunt and service period. High quality food and great ambiance. Met the owners who were sitting next to us and gave awesome recommendation not just for their delicious food but also cool bars in the area like pantheon Taurino. Defiently order the Cabreria Mezcal delicious and ask for pasta .. the owners told us it's an old Italian recipie(Grandmas) and they make their pasta from Scratch! Definitely coming back.

    Great wine selection, nice atmosphere.

However, I could say that this is the best tasting bone-in rib eye I have had in Mexico. Also our server, Gustavo, mad the experience amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant and the price is reasonable compared to good steak houses in USA. The manager, Jesus, was also very helpful and attentive. I wish I could leave 10 stars. Come and you will not be disappointed. I did visit in late April 2025

Our server was more than solicitous. He was charming and spoke perfect English. So far five stars! We ordered beef rare for one diner and tuna for the other. Orders took about an hour. We understood. The crowd was daunting. The problem was the food: Beef came well done, it was ordered rare, beef looked lonely , nothing else was on the plate. The veggies and the salad never came. When we mentioned this to the server he promised to look after us. He did . The veggies and the salad were smartly boxed for us to take home as we were leaving. Now the tuna, It is well known that tuna is a most unforgiving fish. You only need to sear it for a few seconds. Our came. It was a half an inch thick not thick as it should have been that is, an inch and a half at least. and it was fried and tasted like old leather shoe. Our desert was wonderful. It was.....The best part of the meal. Our server was an ANGEL He tried and succeeded in making us laugh and feel amused. We gave him a handsome tip. He deserved it. Would we go back? NO!
