Their Chile Relleno con Picadillo y Arroz, and their Flautas Ahogadas were probably the most unsavory victuals of anything I've ever had in Léon! We're from LA and have access to great Mexican food at home and in Mexico so we know when something is good and this place is legit so if you're in town and heard of a guacamaya this is the place to try it. You order at the stand make sure to add some tacos (dorados) to your order. You take it to the salsa area and slosh it with your favorite condiments like cueritos (pickled pork skin), mango salsa, pickled onions and array of heat salsas. Grab napkins and a fork. Ask the young guy for a drink sit down and enjoy this crazy delicious concoction this city is known for. Kid friendly, vegetarian friendly (bolillo w avo and salsas).

I had actually tried this thing before like a week before at some other place. So we came to this place that to everybody is the best ever in Leon. So a Guacamaya is a bolillo bun stuffed with pork rinds maybe with some slices of avocado and topped with a watery smashed tomato sauce(mexican style not to be confused withitalian) I know it sounds kinda wierd but you have to try it. every body loves pork rinds and bolillo buns. the place is famous but in my opinion that day my bun was to hard, the stuffing was not enough and they only put a little slice of avocado. the only good thing i believe is the sauce it has different levels of heat from "no heat to please tell my wife i loved her". it was pricey we had 2 of these and a couple of cokes and it was what we would normally be charged to eat tacos at night somewhere. its a good place i think but there are better places out there.

(around $7 u.s.d.). i was there for about an hour and had a great time. the people next to me had a soup full of vegetables and corn on the cob, which looked awesome and, with the kitchen open to the main area, i could see it cooking on the stove. as an aside, if you're an art lover, there's a very interesting mural in the kitchen that's worth making the trip over for. the back bar is a beautiful carved dark wood with several stools and an etched glass display behind the bottles. this is a down-to-earth, few frills place to hang out and have a few drinks and maybe luck out and hear some great music. no cover charge, i swear.
