El Comal - Fajita, $5 lunch special. - Mexican Near Me - Clarksville, Tennessee

After the experience I just had If I could give negative stars I would. Instead I'm leaving this review. Tonight my party waited 50 minutes for our food to be brought out. In that time we watched the restaurant seat more and more people until there was a single open table set toward the back right by the birthday party that was stretched across the back of the restaurant. We watched the serving staff walk around with masks under their noses except for the man who was especially proud of his beard. He spent most of the time with his mask holding his chin up. I especially loved watching him cough into his hand. Fortunately he wasn't our server but the birthday party might be upset. So, OUR FOOD.... finally comes out but is taken to the wrong table. It's actually taken to a table that was seated a good 20 minutes after us.  After the server sets the food down on the table, in front of other customers, someone must tell her this isnt their food because she picks it up and takes it back to the kitchen. A short time later (one or two minutes) our original server (who we haven't seen in since we put in our order about 15 minutes after we sat down) hustles out of the kitchen carrying our food. She goes to set it down and I stop and ask her of this was the food that was brought to the table behind us. She says yes and goes to set it on the table. In a time without COVID I would have been disgusted but as things stand now this is dangerous. Between re-serving food and slack mask wearing the restaurant playing Russian roulette with their customers. We refused the food. The waitress never stopped to talk to us. She never apologized. She didnt ask if there was something she could do. She didn't mention "manager". She also didn't offer to refill the drink cups shes set in front of us over 30 minutes earlier. She left. The next time we saw her was carrying someone else's food to their table. It took a concerted effort to get her to our table so we could explain we were leaving. We left enough money to cover our drinks (nothing alcoholic).  If you are concerned about the table who got our food don't worry. Their food came out as we were leaving. read more

I am astounded that El Comal received some bad reviews. We just got back from visiting El Comal. I am giving them a rating of five stars. The minute we arrived, we were friendly met. What seemed to be the owners came to our table several times and conversed with us in our primary language, Spanish. The food was plentiful and delicious. They have so many dishes, that we are coming back and it is going to be plenty of times. We just moved to Clarksville from Texas and have been visiting Mexican restaurants. I am going to say that this is the best that we have visited - when they say "authentic Mexican food" they mean it. read more

The restaurant was not busy on a Saturday, yet it took about 10 minutes for a server to replace our empty chip basket. Food arrived in 5 minute increments; if the first person had waited until we all got our food, his would've been cold. The women's restroom was DISGUSTING. The toilet was broken, but it didn't stop several people from using it anyway. Most of us women used the men's room instead. We were in Clarksville for a band contest; I don't think we will be back here. read more

I ordered the Guacamole Casero which was absolutely wonderful!! Huge chunks of fresh avocado with chopped peppers, tomatoes and onions-the cilantro was perfect, not overpowering. I also ordered the Los Cabos Special (with shrimp and tilapia), great flavor and very generous portions. The restaurant doesn't deliver, but Bitesquad does, and I will definitely order from here again. read more

DELICIOUS!!!!! They gave me chips & salsa & a bowl of soup to start. That soup was sooooooo good. I had the nachos with chicken & the chicken was tender & the cheese was super yummy. I had ceviche with shrimp & I guess I had my hopes up too high that it would taste just like I had in Mexico. The service was great & the food came out fast & hot. Loved it! read more

This place is one of my go-to spots for meeting friends. The food goes from average to really good depending on what you order and who is cooking. The fresh guacamolie is off the chain and they can get you rocking with their margaritas and beer specials. read more

You know how at some Mexican restaurants, it seems like every dish is the same exact seasonings and ingredients in different shapes? El Comal is not like that. Had a pork chimichanga (pork was not listed on the menu for the chimichanga) but they made it And it was great. Light cheese sauce over top and had peppers inside as well. Also a 32oz XX Dos Equis beer on Tap for a little over $4 Cannot be beat Will go back again for sure. Fast service too read more

YUCK... horrible service and bland food. I ordered Tamales.... which was just some sort of steamed piece of masa and some chili thrown on top!! it looked horrible and tasted even worse!! the enchiladas that my husband ordered were sloppy and lacked any flavor at all. will never eat here again. read more

We were a little unsure because it is attached to the Motel 6 but we went inside anyway. Not only was it super clean but we were greeted right away. Our beverages, Margaritas, were just a wee bit strong, BUT not complaining. They were so yummy. Our food came out fast. Our server was sweet and right on it. We will be going back. read more

So I have been going here for a few years with no problem then on Sunday 3/4/2018 we called in an order and when we got it home it didn't look right. the enchiladas were smaller and was like rubber and thick and the ground beef had no flavor. My daughters chicken CHIMICHANGAs had pieces of bone in them and after biting down and getting bone she could not eat them. She called and left a message but heard nothing back. Good chips and salsa. I ordered the steak tacos which were very tasty. My granddaughter order a vegetarian burrito. Unfortunately, she did not like it and only had two bites. By far my favorite Mexican restaurant here in clarksville ! I love margaritas and they by far have the best in town. They don't taste watered down like most and they are delicious.They have great specials going on all the time as well. Not to mention they offer a military discount on everything except alcohol. My friends and I always come here for our girls night out if we plan to drink and have never been disappointed. The foods great and the service is amazing. I'm never left eating with a dirty table or empty glass ( don't you ate when that happens) We always ask for the waiter Roberto because he is always so kind and does a fantastic job with a smile on his face. read more
