Large Pizza Margherita with fresh basil

Housed in the previous premises of Berado's, El Capitano is a family friendly Pizza and Bar. Big selection of beers. Plenty of seating for large family groups and lots of children running around. This is not really a place for an intimate romantic dinner. There is a small selection of entrees on offer..marinated olives, pork and fennel meatballs, roasted Noosa Red tomatoes...we did not try them. The Pizza Menu is small but adequate. The Pizzas are thin and crispy, the toppings are varied. There is a choice of salads to accompany the pizzas and ice cream for dessert. The Staff are very friendly. The Pizzas once ordered came out pretty quickly and they were tasty ... However, as I said, this was not a place for us as an older couple to linger. We came, we ate, we left.

Amazing place for cocktails and pizza. Def a Noosa highlight. We had the spicy pizza, cocktails and salads and everything was awesome

This pizzeria has only been opened a month and if we had not seen people walk down the alley with pizza boxes we would never have known it existed. The dough is organic sourdough 48hrs fermented. The varieties are only few but oh my god you will go back for more. Book ahead of you want to eat in as per every other place in Noosa though you can drop in and Oder take away, they do not deliver but you can sit at the bar and have a drink while you wait for your order. Service is friendly and the place is gorgeous inside, with a ocean style decorating of course. I will be back

Food came out quicker than they had quoted and was both large in serving size and very tasty. My wife and I shared a large seafood pizza (which was more than plenty for the two of us) and our teenagers had pasta. Both who are fairly picky eaters rated the both the flavour and serving size. One thing to consider if you are hoping for a 'quiet' dinner is that the tile floor and lack of sound deadening means carrying on a conversation when the restaurant is full is very difficult as there is a lot of noise. But if you are looking for some good pizza, pasta, wine then definitely give this great little place a shot. As previously stated, this was not our first visit and am sure it will not be the last.

It's not unexpectedly fairly costly in this premium location, with an extra charge on holidays (common practice around these parts, but notable as that's when people go to the beach). Nonetheless, I managed to avoid this as for some reason didn't put the sign up until after I'd paid. The place was busy, and it's a nicer dining area than average. The pizza itself was notable for the quantity of toppings. The pizza I ordered had pumpkin, artichokes, and sundried tomatoes. I'm not wild about pumpkin, but it was a palatable pizza, and I was full enough to walk all the way around the nearby national park and start my trip back without so much as a hint of hunger. Seeing as how the Sunshine Coast region has yet to catch the vegetarian fever that has spread through Gold Coast and Brisbane, this place is an acceptable option for me.

We were blown away by the…read morefunky decor, the cool staff, the awesome menu, the extensive wine and cocktail list and the mellow tunes the DJ was spinning on a Saturday afternoon. When we headed back up to the Sunshine Coast in March it was a no brainer for us to revisit this place for a proper meal and a few drinks to wile away the afternoon in a great location. Our first impression was that already Miss Moneypenny was looking a bit tired around the edges. The water carafe to fill our funky cut glass water tumblers had chips all around the rim, the glasses themselves were showing marks of wear and the menus were quite crumpled and stained. Add to that the staff uniforms varied from well dressed supervisors to quite casually dressed waitresses(aka runners and jean shorts) which left me questioning the standards for a venue which is not on the cheaper side of the market. I found the music was very generic and didn't really do anything to help the atmosphere of the place, although I know this is a personal preference. I will say I still love the wooden panelling, the lounge areas and the glassware, they add a certain touch which sets this place apart from your average cafe/restaurant on Hasting Street. The question is, is it enough? We were once again impressed with the food and for the most enjoyed our drink choices. Our frustration was the in the delays in service due to shift changes when the restaurant really wasn't busy. Your customer does come first, not catching up with your mates whilst they have a knock off drink at the bar. Your average cocktail will set you back $16-$19. Food starts with tapas around the $10 mark and main meals from about $30+. I must say that when expressed our frustrations about our drinks the staff were more than willing to take on our feedback and were keen to make sure that we knew that they are working really hard to improve their service levels and the overall standard of the product they deliver. In a world where hospitality is so dependant on it's people and changes so quickly really this is an awesome attitude that hopefully will pay off. I may not be quite so keenly anticipating a visit again next time I'm in Noosa, but if I'm passing by I'll be prepared to stop and have another drink and nibble to see if they've followed through on their plans for improvement or just been delivering lip service. The waitress that seated us was semi friendly and one of the tables was wobbly. While we perused the menu, a lady that must have been the owner came to take our order. She had a bit of a passive aggressive attitude (in my opinion... Maybe I'm just too sensitive haha) while we were trying to decide (my gf's parents are vegetarians so we were trying to figure out what they could eat). We ordered 2 large pizzas (a pumpkin pizza, a "paradise" pizza - smoked chicken, sundried tomato, onion, capsicum) and 2 pasta dishes. My gf and I went to buy some wine as they're byo and by the time we got back meals had started coming out... Very quick as it was about 10-15 minutes! So this made me even more weary, because food that comes out that quickly surely has something up with it. My pizza was nice and hot from what I could see. But the chicken was a bit sparse. As a lover of pizza I believe the first slice tells it all. The smell was a bit strange to me. Couldn't put my finger on what it was. The chicken was a bit bland and I think it was a bit over cooked. The base was thin but gave me a feeling that it may have been reheated. The hero of the pizza was the sundried tomatoes and the right amount of cheese. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have finished it. Everyone else was pretty happy with their meals so I must be a real pizza connoisseur haha (more likely really picky lol) For a first experience I was satisfied but I would definitely look at other options over 100% going back. Not cheap either!

All the meals are prepared fresh to the extent that the pizza bases and all the pasta are also made fresh daily. As such; not all pasta types are available every day but hey, that's part of the experience! The serving sizes are appropriate and well priced for Noosa. We ordered a Regular Mexican Pizza and a Small Sweet Chilli Crab Pizza (see photos). Both were excellent. The restaurant is B.Y.O and the is a BWS over the road should you forget to bring a bottle with you. The owners were more than happy to point out how to get to the bottle shop before you settle in. Free cake (a family secret recipe) was served after dinner (see photos) which was a nice touch. All-in-all a very pleasant experience that I would recommend to friends and family.
