So, I want to start out this review by saying that I am a stay-at-home mom who was very, very…read morereluctant to have her child in preschool. However, I will soon be re-entering the work-force, and I needed to find a preschool where I felt comfortable with the staff and students. To that end, I visited many different providers in the area, some sponsored by the county, some private. Melody Lane was on my list because the location was very convenient, and I received a referral from my friend who had her twins there before they started kindergarten. My first impression of the campus was that it was very organized and set up like a real "school." Some of my visits other locations were just sad (small campus, if any! nasty equipment, etc.). Melody Lane was sparkly and bright and I liked how secure it felt. Even the knob on the gate was really high so a child couldn't reach it! At first though it was weird - there was no child in site! But that is because the children aren't allowed to run unattended throughout the school. The children are always in the care of a teacher. Anyway, I met with the director and really liked her personality. I had my baby with me (okay, 16 months of age isn't exactly a baby LOL) and the director explained that my daughter would be in the baby room until two years of age. The baby room staff was really friendly and they seemed to take extra care with every charge! I was then taken to the toddler room and the other rooms. They have a full-time cook who gave my daughter a little snack while there. It was really cute. I just had the impression they weren't there to make money - they were there because they genuinely care about the work they do. But this place has been around since 1994 so I am not surprised they know their business! Anyway, long story short, I decided on Melody Lane and I have been really happy! My daughter spent six months in the baby room, then was moved up to the 2-year old room. The teacher, Miss Sol, is the kindest, most gentlest person I have ever met. One day when I arrived early to pick up my daughter, all of the kids were napping away except, of course, my daughter who had woken up early. Miss Sol was sitting on the floor rocking her and talking to her. My daughter was looking up at her with such an adoring expression! For me, it meant the world. I'm not the type of mom who gets threatened/jealous when my baby likes someone else LOL. But to know that my daughter is receiving such gentle care... The other neat thing is that sometimes they will text me a video of my daughter in class, while she is singing or dancing or learning something. It is so cute to see how she interacts with her little friends. Now that she is a little over two, she asks to go to school in the morning! And I'm blown away that at only 26 months of age, she can already COUNT TO TEN!! And she knows about 90% of the alphabet song! That is because of Miss Sol and the education they are providing at Melody Lane. Anyway, I cannot recommend them enough!

Since the new ownership took over, this daycare has significantly gone downhill. There has been a…read moreconstant turnover of teachers, which creates no consistency or stability for the children. It's very concerning to see staff constantly changing, especially in an environment where children need structure, familiarity, and proper care. I also feel the new management does not know how to properly handle the children or maintain the same quality of care that this daycare once had. Licensing/state has reportedly been called to the daycare multiple times since the new owner took over, which raises even more concerns as a parent. Overall, this daycare is not the same place it used to be, and I am extremely disappointed with the direction it has gone. At this point, I am seriously considering removing my children over the summer and enrolling them elsewhere because I no longer feel confident in the childcare being provided.

I've had my son at this school since June 2022. I toured several daycares/preschools in the area…read morebefore choosing this one. Firstly, the location and classrooms are fantastic. A lot of daycares have small, musty grounds that seem uncomfortable for children to be cooped up in all day, but the Montessori Academy of Chino has HUGE, open, sunny classrooms with plenty of space for the kids. The entrance is secure and the sign in/out process is easy on their device (no annoying sheets to sign every day). Their outside area is gated and faces away from the street, so it also feels very safe. Secondly, the staff are attentive. Outside of the classroom, on the rare occasion I've had an issue, the director or owner have communicated quickly and directly. Inside the classroom, the teachers are nice and seem like they enjoy their job. They have plenty of fun activities for the kids and are wonderful about having special events! There is occasional turnover, but that is to be expected with any early education center. The main teachers have stayed consistent which is great for the kids. Overall, our family simply loves this school. I can't thank them enough for all they do!

My concern is specifically with the director, not the teachers or entire staff. I understand that…read moredealing with conflicts between children and families is not easy, but that is also why someone in a director position needs to remain neutral and consistent and not make decisions based on personal relationships with the families. There is a difference between enforcing school policies and personally involving yourself in a conflict based on emotions or assumptions. This became especially concerning in an incident involving a child who was repeatedly being bitten and hit by another student, resulting in bruises and eventually a fear of going to school at all. While I understand there are procedures the school must follow when addressing incidents between students, my concern is with how the director handled the situation beyond those procedures. From what I witnessed, she became personally involved and appeared to let her own emotions and assumptions influence her response rather than remaining neutral. All in all, my takeaway is that if your child ever has an issue involving another family at this school, I would hope that family does not have a close relationship with the director. Based on what I witnessed, I would have serious concerns about whether both sides would be treated equally and without favoritism.

I saw the family in a parking lot, and my daughter was actually afraid of their child. I told her it was okay and encouraged her to go say hi. I introduced myself, and I had my daughter say hi to their child. & Said we should do play dates etc. since there's been a behavioral concern between them and a play date would help etc. & You know this because I specifically told you this when you called me yelling saying I confronted her. Then you said sorry she must have just been embarrassed about it cus she was crying to you. She didn't even say I confronted her, you just assumed and later acknowledged that wasn't the case after I explained what happened, so please don't misrepresent what happened. What also bothered me was what happened during our conversation. You told me that the family's other son was very ill (I won't mention the exact condition you told me out of respect for the other family's privacy) and that the mother had been crying to you about the situation. I have empathy for what their family is going through, but then you told me that I should apologize to them when I see them, even though I did not confront them or do anything to them. That was the part that really left me questioning the situation. And frankly, given how close you are with this family, your response makes me question how neutral this situation is actually being handled. I understand that you have a responsibility to remain neutral, but that same standard needs to apply to how my actions are being represented. And our issue was from day 1 I came to you about another child hitting mine. I had prior 2 meetings with you before I spoke with the parent. So please don't misrepresent what happened. It's not even about the incident itself, it's how you painted us as the bad person and tried to cover for the other family making excuses saying "they are great family, he's a boy and boys are wild, he's the youngest" those reasons don't matter. if a child hits bites another child you should believe the parent coming forward and try to help instead of taking other family's side. And it's funny you didn't try to believe me at first because you didn't know I had incident reports and teachers telling me about the hitting incidents at first. Your attitude towards it all was extremely disappointing. You are the reason why we left, not because of the incident itself. -------------------------------------------- Stay away from this preschool. We left this preschool, mainly because the director's rude attitude when we raised concerns after repeated incidents of our child coming home hurt, reporting being hit and bitten. When we brought these issues up, DIRECTOR seemed to side with the other family who appeared to have a close relationship with them, consistently sided with them and made us feel like maybe our concerns weren't believed making us feel unheard. Those experiences, and the discourteous way our concerns were handled led us to leave.

Both are still attending the daycare. I especially love the teachers, they guide the kiddos with their school work! With the whole pandemic, they made my life easier with home schooling, assisting them with school work And helping them with their homework. They also make sure the kiddos get outdoor play in the playground ( if weather permits) . Teachers also provide extra school activities to challenge the kiddos and playtime indoors with educational toys. I have kept my kiddos here since infancy because I trust the teachers here!

If you are a new parent or a parent that is new to child care and are worried about how your child will adjust you're able to communicate with the teachers throughout their day. The teachers do really well with responding in a timely manner. Knowing my kids were not only being well taken care of but learning about different cultures, science, hygiene, and many other things is the reason I keep coming back.They are definitely worth it and I would highly recommend them to any parent that is looking for a reliable child care. Our daughter absolutely thrived and had the best time. Her speech exploded, her confidence grew, and her social skills developed. We are big supporters of the Montessori way and Ms. Elsie/Ms. Veronica are fantastic instructors. They are so patient and kind but maintain structure.
