Under the new management, the experience has gone from retro joy to something resembling a garish corporate money pit. If you're looking to relive the good old days of arcade glory, consider this your neon-lit warning sign to stay far, far away. First off, the bartenders. Remember last year when 1Up's bartenders were warm, cheerful, and chatty, making you feel like you were part of the family? Well, those days are deader than my high score on Pac-Man. The new bartenders treat you with the exact enthusiasm you'd expect from someone waiting at the DMV. Ordering a drink here feels like you've personally interrupted their day--and heaven forbid you ask any questions about the menu. Smiles? Gone. Friendly banter? Vanished. You're left standing there with your overpriced, uninspired drink wondering if you've wandered into a soulless high-end cocktail bar by mistake. Ah, the drinks. Once playful and creative masterpieces that added to 1Up's charm, they've been replaced with pretentious, unimaginative concoctions that scream, "We're fancy now; please empty your wallet." No fun, no spirit (pun intended), just overpriced disappointments. At their current price point, I half expected the drink to come with complimentary resentment from the staff. And don't get me started on the arcade machines. Gone are the iconic retro classics that made me feel like I'd stepped back into the golden age of arcades. Instead, the place is now stuffed with bright, flashy, wallet-draining horrors you'd find at a Dave and Buster's. What happened to the charm? The authenticity? Now it's just a playground for toddlers with no attention spans and those who value flashing lights over actual gameplay. Speaking of, if you're a Gen Z-er armed with your parents' credit card and an inability to go three seconds without dopamine overload, this place might actually be a dream come true for you. The rest of us? Not so much. Look, 1Up Arcade Bar used to be a gem, but now it feels like a soulless cash grab. Don't come here hoping for a genuine arcade bar experience because you'll leave disappointed--and poorer. Save your time, save your money, and spare yourself the heartbreak of seeing what this place has become. RIP, old 1Up. You are sorely missed.

They had an outside patio with nice wicker seating and they had those fire pit tables. They had a lot of TV's for all the sporting events. This place had everything a sports fan would want or just someone who wants a great drink and good food. We didn't order dinner we just ordered some appetizers, I ordered fried Pickles and she ordered Corned Beef Egg Rolls. The fried pickles were really good, I don't like the spears cause I feel like it's too much pickle so when I saw the pickle rings I was ecstatic and they were really good and then the Corned Beef Egg Rolls were amazing! My wife had a Margarita and she said it was one of the best margaritas in town she has had (and we check out alot of bar and grills). This place is amazing and it's literally a 5 minute drive from the house. We will be coming back here on August 1st for the Grand Opening of Yuengling Beer.

I can't say what problems may be presented at a busier time though. The food tastes good. I liked the garlic parmesan wings and burrata truffle pizza. It's a little pricey. The pizza and wings were enough for 2 people, 3 max. One of the workers told me that typically it isn't allowed to bring food in because I had a birthday cake. I can understand banning alcohol or a pizza from another restaurant, but there should be an exception for a celebratory cake. There was a lot of metered parking around Cambria Hotel and I found a spot right across the front entrance. Overall, it's a great hangout spot in downtown Detroit for food, drinks, and games. Duckpin shares space with Five Iron Golf so along with bowling you can also reserve time for golf simulators.

You'd think with a name like Randy Mac it would have two all beef patties, special sauce, and the other ingredients. Really, it's more like a Whopper. If you end up drinking too much, which is known to happen at Randy's due to their $7 large pitchers of domestic beer, fill up on some mini tacos. They are the generic ones they sell at Costco, but these are covered in grease. Randy's isn't for everybody. It is smoky, loud, rather dirty and sometimes full of mullets and butchly women. Still, it is a great place to catch a game, or have a cheap night out.
