My First Choice! This is a cool international grocery store…read moreon Wurzbach, on the far end of the Spice Road cultural district. The shop has all kinds of African and Caribbean stuff. They've got a large selection of Goya products, canned foods and dry beans and spices. They've got a healthy selection of Caribbean colas, which are always fun. I could try them all! The frozen selection is amazing! They've got heaps of food that has been imported from afar to end up here under ice. There's a small produce selection that seems to favor plantains. If they don't have it fresh, they'll have it frozen. My favorite were the large African sculptures they were selling by the door. The clerk was friendly and said "hi" when I came in. The merchandise looked all pretty fresh. I wish there were some things to help explain what some of the ingredients and products were. It'd be nice if they had recipes or cards that explained that these items are snacks, and these are ingredients. But if I had any questions, the clerk was happily standing by to answer. Parking is easy- it's in an African/Filipino strip shopping center. Cool.

This review is for the cafe side. I am a regular customer at this supermarket and at many occasions…read moreI order their duck. This time I saw a review of the pho and it is recommended to ask for ribs and oxtail which I did that. I just got back from Vietnam not too long ago and let me tell you this is hands down the best pho in San Antonio! The owner is so so friendly! He took me to the kitchen showing me how he cook the broth. We had a chat about Vietnam and the food and different style of pho between north and south. At the end of my meal he brought out snacks and insisted on me taking a hand full of them! I believe this pho is only offered on weekends and make sure to ask for the mix. For a moment they thought I was ordering one of each This supermarket and cafe truly give you a Vietnam experience without the need to get on a plane. Highly recommend

Do not purchase produce at Asia Supermarket. Two days ago, I…read morepurchased a Cherimoya fruit at this market (that I frequently shop at). Today, I went in to return/exchange what I discovered to be rotten fruit. There was dark matter on the bottom of the fruit, as shown in the video. The store manager refused to do the return/exchange, and I am left with the thought that customers are then expected to purchase bad fruit from them, with no recourse. Love this store, but do yourself a favor, and get your produce from somewhere else.

Get the Delhi food into my belly! This is a large Indian…read moresupermarket! It's big! It's the anchor spot for a thoroughly exotic strip shopping center off Babcock. The Indian Super Market has a whole produce section. Most of the stuff you can find at HEB, but they've got some harder to find stuff. The spices here are amazing- they have a whole aisle with so many different spices. Christopher Columbus was willing to travel halfway around the planet to get the Indian subcontinent's spices, you don't have to go so far! In the center of the store is a little snack bar where they're serving up authentic Indian street food for here or to-go. The best part about this place is the snack aisle with all these strange flavors and exotic tastes to munch on. I also enjoy the frozen section which includes all kinds of ready to go vegetarian food, and desserts. The store is clean and well lit. The staff is friendly, but offers little advice on how to use the spices. That's the internet's job. The prices are mainly pretty good, considering that this stuff has all come from so far away. There's some real deals on the snacks! You won't find most of the merchandise here, except for the produce, at HEB. My only complaint about this place is that a few times I've gotten items that I've brought home, and found that they're long past their expiration dates, and the past-due expiration dates were either strategically covered with a price tag, or a sticker, or in one case- White Out. I've been more careful to make sure that the items are still fresh while shopping here.

Great service, clean, and a large selection of Indian foods and spices…read more Was a cool place to stumble upon.
