We came here on a recommendation from local people that we know who love to come here. My wife and…read moreI tried flautas de Pollo and also cochinita pibil. One with red and one with green salsa. The food came quick which was a plus. It was fresh, the flavors vibrant and very satisfying. Did I also mention how inexpensive it was? The bill came out to $166 pesos (with 2 beers) which is just about $9 USD. It was so unbelievably satisfying and there isn't anything I've ever had in the United States that can even compare to the same level of quality for the price! You don't need to eat anything else with it because the portions were so generous. Please do yourself a favor and give this place a try. The flautas were amazing and if I ever make it back to Cholula in the future I would definitely come back to try this place again!

We stumbled across this place because it was open late and looked interesting. We've been eating…read more(wonderful) local traditional foods for weeks and it was nice to mix things up for a change. We got the Sofia pizza and really enjoyed it. I got a refreshing strawberry, lime, spearmint drink that I think had mojito in the title. We really liked the ambiance; the second floor had a nice vibe. (We didn't see much of the first floor.) We even got lucky and caught a narrow balcony table, from which we enjoyed the night street scene... including, oddly, a pet pig being loaded from a wagon into the back seat of a car. The one drawback was service. Our server was very friendly and we really liked him; it's just that we saw so little of him...... It takes us a while to read the menu so we had to ask for a few more minutes, and then he just never came back. We waited and waited, and I finally had to go in from the balcony and flag someone down. Fortunately, we were in a really good mood and not in a hurry so it didn't really bother us. But then, the same thing happened again after we finished our meal; I had to go in and flag someone down to ask for our check. And then a third time (!!!), after I'd asked for the check, noone came with it and we waited and waited and waited and waited......... When I stuck my head in this time, the server (the one I had asked for the check, not our original one, who had vanished) was just standing against the wall, with his hands folded in front of him, looking at the room. He kind of started when he saw me. I genuinely think they forgot us. Three times. It was pretty bewildering, to be honest. And resulted in a shift in our mood. I should probably be taking off more than one star for all this, but we did like the place and the food. All I can say is, good luck.

Great location since it's down the street from the Zocalo…read more This location is just down 3 Oriente from the Zocalo which can be recognized by the gelato stand they have right at the entrance. As a tourist the one thing you want to avoid is having Pizza (is not an authentic Mexican dish) but from time to time one craves the flat pie we call pizza. I was surprised to see the place being open at an later time than other pizzerias. It seems like everyone tries to close by 8 or 9 pm but Yelao was open a bit later than others which was nice for us tourist who go out all day to visit this great city and all you want is to come back to a familiar meal. The place was clean and the young lady in the front was extremely nice and convincing that this place had really good food. As we decided to get our meals to go it was to a shock that the kitchens is not right in the back of the establishment, we found out when my aunt tried to order one of thie burgers and who seemed to be the manager had to "phone in the kitchen" to verifies they still had that item. The way things were handle were just plain white or black meaning there is NO addition to their menu only subtractions. It was fine and all, they did warned us that it could take up to 15 minutes for our food to arrive which it did and maybe even faster. Once our meals were sent to the kitchen, we forgot to get drinks to go since their drinks are more of a specialty. I was so disappointed to be ignored by the staff and manager for a good 5 minutes. I was standing right in front of them on the other side of the counter and yet no one had the decency to take my order. Such a poor service. Overall this place has good food and drinks. Not sure if I would be back for a stay-in service. The 4 stars are for the food, drinks and the young lady who was so nice enough to explain the menu to us. As for management = 0!

I'm dedicating this review to the tourists in Puebla who are looking for a good place to eat. I…read morewent to Puebla to visit my cousins and they brought me here for their tacos and licuados (smoothies). I thought nothing of it because the tacos are pretty much great anywhere and everywhere in Mexico, but I was immediately impressed. The tacos here are great! I especially like the al pastor ones, but what really makes them extra tasty are their salsas! They have four, but their green avocado one will take your tacos to the next level! What really makes me love this place and is the big reason for the 5 stars are their licuados! They.Are.Amazing! Especially their licuado de mamey!! Mamey is this incredible fruit that is just perfect for a smoothie because it's so creamy. The US unfortunately doesn't have this fruit, so I make sure to make a stop here whenever I'm in Puebla visiting. It's just THAT good. Haha I cannot recommend this smoothie enough to all of you! Note: their large is really large. More than enough for 2 people to enjoy :)
