My husband has neuroendocrine cancer, and his medical team is here. It is one of the few…read moreneuroendocrine cancer teams in the country, and we can't recommend it highly enough. Things we have observed about the facility: - Some patient rooms are very generous in size and others are soooo tiny. ‍ - The nurses and other staff are wonderful. - The virtual nurse that visits with you by video chat is a great addition to the patient experience. He or she handles many of the administrative duties, freeing the nurses on the floor to pay more attention to patients. - Patient food is average, but the baked chicken is delicious. - The cafeteria is not open at night or on weekends, so family members are on their own to find a meal at those times. - Valet parking is available but it closes around 5:30 pm (approximately!). After this, you have to get your keys from security. The cost is just $5, and free for those over 65. - There is ample close, free parking. - MyOchsner, the app, is awesome. Your info is readily available and it's easy to send messages and get answers from your medical team.

Timeline Summary:…read more January 10, 2026 - ER Visit Seen by Dr. Gregory Hurley, MD--exceptional physician. Diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia and discharged with antibiotics and nebulizer treatment. Symptoms worsened by January 12 (not due to physician care, but ineffective treatment). January 18, 2026 - Primary Care Received steroid injection, antibiotic injection, high-dose doxycycline, inhaler, and nebulizer treatments. January-July 2026 Repeated respiratory illness episodes. Continued antibiotics (including Zithromax) and breathing treatments. I expressed concern that the pneumonia never fully resolved. A chest X-ray was recommended but delayed due to work obligations. June 19, 2026 - Chest X-ray Results showed no acute cardiopulmonary process and no change from 2020 imaging--no visible pneumonia. July 10, 2026 - Emergency Event Awoke covered in dark brown mucus from nose and mouth. Immediately went to Ochsner ER (Kenner). Dr. Hanna Lurye, DO acted quickly and appropriately. Extensive testing performed (labs, cultures, CT scan). CT revealed multifocal pneumonia (right worse than left), sepsis, and respiratory failure. I was admitted. Hospital Stay (July 10-17, 2026) Delayed initiation of breathing treatments (not started until ~2 days after admission). Dr. Alexander Whitehead, MD provided minimal interaction. July 14-16 - Under Dr. Madeleine Nguyen, MD Repeated refusal to order follow-up imaging despite my condition and requests. Only after escalation did she reluctantly approve an X-ray. July 16, 2026 - X-ray Result Showed only slight improvement from July 10. This is unacceptable given the severity of my diagnosis and the volume of IV antibiotics administered. Despite ongoing illness, I was discharged after 7 days--only "slightly improved"--from multifocal pneumonia, sepsis, and respiratory failure. It is evident discharge decisions were influenced by insurance limitations (Blue Cross approval through July 15). I was pushed out while still clinically compromised. Additionally, antibiotics administered during hospitalization were ineffective, yet treatment adjustments were delayed until discharge planning. Conclusion This reflects systemic prioritization of cost over patient care. I was discharged prematurely while still seriously ill. Staff Recognition (4th Floor): Outstanding: Heather Chimetho, RN Ebony Simmons, RN Pooja, Terri Lynn (Charge Nurse), Jasmine Lee (IV), Tech Kelly Good: RN Wesley, Wonda (Respiratory Therapist), Tech Jasmein Unacceptable: Tatresa (desk tech - dismissive, hung up calls), Nurse Diamonique (rude, unhelpful)

When I moved back home to NOLA four years ago I wanted a family doctor that was fairly young who…read morewould keep up with the advancements in medicine and treat me with a multi-culturally competent way (ie. understand the Filipino-American culture or Asian culture in general). Dr. Alex Hoang is Vietnamese-American and fits the bill! I was refered to him because I went to high school with his partner's wife. The office opens early in the morning, they always fit me in whenever I get sick (which considering I now carry an Epi pen is quite often apparently! Jk) and they get back to me ASAP! The staff treats me with dignity and respect and are friendly! My yearly exam includes a heart ultrasound, EKG, breathing test. Etc. and they can do all of this in-house! They have laptops so that your records are now electronically stored. The prescriptions get printed out which is awesome! There are also two parking lots which is convenient. Plus the waiting room is comfy with leather couches, regular chairs, flat screen tvs, magazines , kid toys etc. I would recommend them to all my friends and family! Addendum: as I'm waiting as a walk in patient (my normal doc has the day off so going to see one of the other two docs) I noticed that the bus stop is right in front of the office which might help people who use the bus out here! I also forgot that there is a mini parking lot out front too. In the examining room area on the right hand side there is a larger bathroom with baby changer. I'll post pix later. On the left hand is the smaller bathroom with no baby changer.

I used to go as a walk I'm, I would been seen within the 1 hr. I have referred many family, friends and colleagues to this place. I can honestly say since Covid, I make appointments first. I follow the directions before my appointment and it usually fast. Lately I have some issues with the billing. Once I call their billing dept, it is cleared up fairly quickly.

I took a friend to the Veterans urgent care location today at 2:20…read more My friend has a terrible cough and I was concerned because she has cancer. I wanted to make sure it wasn't pneumonia. She went to sign in and two ladies were at the front desk and the employee told my friend to sit down and she would call her. Well, after 40 minutes she went up and the two ladies were still talking to the clerk. This is unprofessional and uncalled for. My friend was not even respectfully greeted. A man came in and the clerk told him that he needed his id. He sat down and we left. We went to the uc on Clearview and West Metairie and were treated royally. This needs to be addressed. I will call and report her to the manager tomorrow. I'm embarrassed because I have been with Ochsner for 40 years and never have experienced such poor care. PMA.

I originally thought the 2.5 star rating might be an overreaction but unfortunately, my experience…read moreconfirms otherwise. I'm genuinely upset after being denied care and treated with unexpected hostility by a nurse on staff. I first visited on Thursday and was tested for strep. Even though the test came back negative, I was still treated for strep. Over the next 48 hours, my symptoms worsened significantly. I called the Ochsner nurse line (reached directly through the clinic's phone number...!?) and was told to return as soon as I could to be evaluated for a possible abscess, since the original treatment wasn't working and the strep test was negative. However, when I returned, I was met with attitude and dismissed. I was told the Ochsner nurse's line had "nothing to do" with this clinic, despite being directly connected through their phone system. I was told it was a waste of my and their time to be seen again despite coming because I was told it was urgent I returned. I am left in pain and confusion, feeling like a burden for simply following the advice from their nurse's line. This experience has left me feeling disregarded, and honestly, in tears. I hope this feedback encourages the staff to treat future patients with more compassion and coordination.
