I'm finding more and more avant-garde dessert or coffee bars popping up around the city, which is a welcome break from monotonous chain outlets. Eisse is a compact joint with a brimming menu of non-alcoholic and hot drinks, desserts and ice-creams.
As soon as you walk in, you're in awe of the colour and artistic decor that has a bohemian feel to it. The counter stretches along the left-side, with appetising desserts and ice-creams to tease your taste buds.
As it's an eatery owned by Muslims, it has a separate ladies section upstairs where men are not allowed. However, ladies are welcome to sit downstairs in mixed-groups. Given this cultural norm, I was impressed by the polite manner of staff towards female customers in particular, and was addressed to as "sister".
