Very tasty ice cream, but no hospitality and illusive information. I guess we came in with our family at a busy time, so to prevent us from making a line we were asked to sit down and that our order would be taken. When we were seated the waiter disappeared. With four kids waiting for ice cream we took initiative to go back to the counter and let the kids choose their two scoops they were allowed. When half way done another waiter urged us to make haste. We were billed a unexpected high price. When I informed about it they told us the price indicated at the counter was only a take-away price and that because we were seated extra 'taxes' had to be paid, which was +40% for every scoop. To 'prove' this the man pointed to a vaguely written text at the bottom of the menu. My question why they didn't point that out to us when they asked us to sit down was answered in a hurry 'that this is how it is everywhere'. I challenged that according to (German) commodity laws this extra fee could never be as high as 40%. The man shrugged and walked away. After I took pictures of the prices he became angry and urged us to get up immediately and leave the premise, saying "this is my house". I wanted to say "yes, and we are your guests, please treat us like ones", but I didn't want to upset the angry Italian any further. There are 3 or 4 ice-cream places in this town, also one down by the river. I wish I had seen that one first. read more
