I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Lohspeicher and was fortunate enough to be staying during…read morethe 2 nights the restaurant was open for dinner. Wow, this was probably one of the best meals I've ever had.
You have the option of 3 or 4 courses. Everyone gets the same 3 courses that Chef Ingo prepares for the night but the 4 course option includes a soup course. I went with the 3 course option, which included an amuse bouche of fresh baked bread with a selection of meat spreads; prawns and mussels over cous cous with a sweet mustard sauce; raspberry sorbet palate cleanser; filet (prepared sous vide to medium rare perfection) over basil risotto; chocolate mousse, mango "puffy" (mango ice cream wrapped in some sort of gelatin coconut dough heaven), and melon ice cream. It was heavenly. Even with all the courses, the servings were generous but not excessive; I left full and satisfied, not gluttonous. After 2 glasses of wine each and one of the best meals I've ever had, I was pleasantly surprised when the bill was less than $100 per person.
If you have any good allergies or aversions, this may not be the place to go because I heard Anna, the host/server, telling a couple, who asked about vegetarian options, that there are no substitutions.
