There were several activities for the kids to enjoy after story time as well as photo ops. After the celebration we headed upstairs to the cafe to try a Winnie the Pooh cookie, pecan pie bar and a chocolate chip cookie. This is a really good hidden-gem bookstore in west-central Wichita. The inside has a nice, cozy,…read moreambiance with a wide array of genres from fiction to deeply technical reads. The staff is very friendly as well. As soon as I entered the store, the lady asked me what I wanted to purchase and she was able to lead me to what I wanted. In addition, the prices here are very reasonable. I got five books for $35. If you want to go to a bookstore that is not a chain in Wichita, I would highly recommend this place place!

I think this is the perfect size for a used bookstore. There are some others in town that are…read moregreat, but they can be a little too big for my liking. I feel like I can come in here to browse and truly find some great treasures without being overwhelmed. For example, I came in one day to find the entire Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. I picked them up for my husband, and he was beyond excited - they were the covers for the first run of the series which, although not "rare" can be a bit hard to get your hands on. I think I paid about $5 per book, and they're in awesome shape. These are the kinds of special finds I love to come across in second hand bookstores :)

Never really tried to buy a book but I was looking at the Nook on the way out. Kind of neat, never looked at e-readers before and it was cool that they had a bunch out. A lady even came up to help me, and I thought that was cool cuz I didn't know anything about e-readers. She told me that even if she didn't work at B&N she'd get the Nook because it is the best e-reader. When I asked her why it was the best and what kind of features it has that other e-readers don't she didn't even name one thing. It was almost as if I asked her some really difficult question and she just stopped for a second til she started playing with the Nook in front of me and said that "it's just...better, just look at it". rofl. anyway, this place is awesome just for the table by the window. theres also lots of restrooms, which is nice, except theres no exiting mirror (you know, like the mirror right by the exit of the restroom that you can use to check yourself out like one last time before you leave). what kind of a bathroom doesn't have an exiting mirror??

They must take care of their employees because there are 2 gentleman at Plaza West that have been there for over a decade.
