Once inside, the Dalston Boys Club is a gorgeous little bohemian haven, with rugs scattered around the floor which were used as seating by half the audience, and hotch-potch furniture filling up the remainder of the space. There are random paintings and decadent mirrors leaning against the walls which give the impression that you have stumbled across an antique dealers garage by accident and a cute little balcony provides the best seats in the house. The whole place is just so beautiful and the (real!) candle light gives it a magical, mysterious glow - I'll be keeping an eye out for other events here in the future for sure.

Still having Family in the UK I try to visit them each year . Found it convenient to be able to stay at the Little Ship Club when I visited the London Boat Show. Participated in the LSC by serving on their London Boat Show Stand and also became the LSC Honorary Port Officer for Long Island Sound NY. In addition, there is a self catering kitchen and it is a great community that shares in order to advance themselves and their businesses. As you walk into the hub, there is a gallery space which at the moment has a moving exhibition on life in Congo. Photography and quotations from its inhabitants, lives which are almost palpable.

The house wines were superb, as was the port. And while it was all pretty far from cheap, the quality well out-stripped the price. So will I be looking to weasel my way into this old boy's club and experience such fine living on a regular basis? Erm, it was nice and all, but no thanks. Besides, I'm too old to grow a floppy haircut and too young to die of gout.
