Really great experience overall. Dr. Abernathy is very caring and takes time to explain everything and answer all of my questions. The office staff, Shelli and Georgianna, are so kind and helpful. I would recommend this office and Dr. Abernathy to anyone in need of foot or ankle care.

He…read moretook me out of work, his office manager made a clerical error and made my Dr note to be out of work til May 15, ( it was March 5th when she wrote it) I was under the assumption he was gonna do the surgery, and his office manager also had me fill out my disability forms in the office that day. Then, come to find out he refused to sign my disability forms, because he wanted me to quit smoking for 2 months before he'd even make the surgery date. I asked him to make a surgery date for 2 months away but he refused to do that cuz he said I may not show up!???? I don't believe he had my best interest at heart. He says it's a proven fact that smoking prevents healthy recoveries from surgery. Well, I just had surgery on my shoulder 3 weeks ago. I've been told that my recovery so far is absolutely awesome. My scar is already hard to see because I heal VERY WELL no matter what is needing to be healed in my body. And- I'm still smoking! And my surgeon NEVER told me I should or HAD to quit. Any way bottom line, he's clearly has control issues and for a Dr. to take someone out of work and then DENY them disability because of their own opinion, how can they be trusted? Not to mention that pic doesn't even look remotely like him. (Not the same ethnicity.)

Every time I visited Dr Byrne gave me some minor suggestion, told me to come back in 6-8 weeks and told me "we're not missing anything." The last time I visited I outright begged for an MRI because we were clearly missing something. The MRI confirmed sever osteoarthritis in my foot and it has progressed to the point that my only option now is to have surgery to join the bones and eliminate the joint. If Dr Byrne had done his job the first time I saw him I might have had other options to save my joint. Go anywhere else, even if you have to wait longer. Dr Byrne does not treat his patients needs.
