I purchased 2 Salvia plants in June and was told at the time of purchase that if the plants didn't survive the store would either return my money or give me new plants. I watered them daily for a week, went on vacation for 2 weeks and then watered them again when I returned. Within 3 weeks all the flowers on the plant had wilted and died and by August, both plants were dead. I returned to Ego's Nurseries and was told there were some tiny new shoots at the bottom (5 or 6 shoots each about 3 - 5 mm in length) and they would recover next year. I was also told I should have watered them daily for a month. It's almost October - even with daily watering now, the chances of those plants developing new shoots and surviving the winter are slim. There are lots of good garden centres in my area but this isn't one of them. read more
