As a gift for Christmas, we took a recent class (demonstration) for making sauces. It was more of a demonstration than a class. There was very little participation. We watched a Chef prepare the sauces while we sat as a group. A couple of students did some stirring but that was it. We were served the sauces over chicken and noodles at the end The shop was cute, the staff were great, but I would not spend this amount of money for a cooking demonstration. read more

I bought a Cuisinart Smart Stick 11/25/2025. When I looked at the receipt when I got home, I thought the total including tax of $141.20 was a little high, so I checked the internet. On 11/26, I returned the Smart Stick I bought at Eggshell Kitchens and got a refund. I then went to Kroger Park Avenue on Chenal and Bought an identical Cuisinart Smart Stick for $70.59. I don't know if the Kroger senior discount would apply to this item since I didn't buy it on Tuesday. If it did, that would save an additional $3.50 at Kroger. read more

I took the Ravioli class. An employee put 2 giant pots of water on the boil for the pasta that we made. After the employee added the salt, this person double dipped taking the spoon in one pot and then putting the same exact spoon into the second pot without washing. Poor food sanitizing and poor food safety practices. I don't know where that person's mouth had been. Think of a homeless person walking by your plate and picking up your spoon and then popping that saliva back into your soup. No thanks. This was marketed as a "cooking" class. read more

Man I love this place. It's on the pricey side, and the very definition of frivolous (I mean, I didn't *need* a giant tea strainer...) but there's no better place for DIY cooking kits, gifts for foodies, or obscure cooking tools/utensils. It seemed like time for a review update, since I'm in Eggshells all the time! They also have cooking classes, and are the single best place to stop on the Heights Sip & Shop (Third Thursdays). You never know what they'll have, last time I was in it was andouille sausage hot off the grill with cheese and a cup of hot buttered rum. Yum! My favorite purchases from here are my Mulling spices (the spices, and that giant tea strainer) and our wine glass charms that look like tiny cats trying to climb into the glasses. Such a fun and unique store! An epicurean delight. They even offer regular cooking classes for those looking to expand their culinary skills. They have everything from little gifts and snacks and special sauces and seasonings all the way up to top of the line kitchen gear that any chef (professional or otherwise) would LOVE to have. read more

Great local store. If you are looking to find that kitchen thing your grandmother always used, they either have it or will gladly research, find it, and order it for you. Ah, I struck gold passing by this place! For a smaller store they had tons of cookware, spices, candies, cooking accessories, etc... The lady working here was wonderful and made us coffee and espresso which was such a lovely touch! I left this store with everything from candy bars to flour and sugar canisters.
