She had dry erase boards with important information like 'don't get scammed, the IRS won't x, y, z.' And the info was all written in different colors. She also sent me home with my choice of wall calendar and a pen. Both had her business information on them, but I actually like that because I want all my friends to have the same great experience I had! All through out the appointment she was willing to make light conversation and had cute little ways of saying things like 'should I put this on ice' meaning she would wait on sending in my return. It just warmed my heart. I plan to return to Josephine next year. And she should to. I think it's important to note this for the older crowd, namely the older suburban crowd, who are scared of everything. Reluctantly, I assisted my mother in coming here this afternoon. She made an appointment last week and was begging me to be her driver since she "doesn't like driving downtown" and didn't know where she would park. Sighhhhhh... There are 2 parking lots kiddy corner to the building (on Pearl and Court). They each had several vacant spots and cost $5 to park in for about an hour. Money well spent if you're nervous and intimidated by scary "city culture"... Sighhhhhh... We parked and walked to the building. Walked in the front doors, signed in and got visitors stickers from the stoic security guards who were definitely typical government employees, probably with a countdown in their heads as to how many more days they have until they get to file for retirement. We were directed up to the 5th floor, followed signs to the retirement office and again signed in there. We were greeted by a really nice and helpful woman. The representative helping my mom was super nice too. Maybe this shouldn't have surprised me but I thought these people would be on par with DMV employees, and well, we all know how sunshine and lollipops they tend to be... Just like those security guards... Sighhhhhh... The whole process took about 20 minutes. The paper work was filed, and shortly we were back walking to the car. Nothing scary, intimidating, or even inconvenient about this process. There are friendly people here. There were tons of worker bees bustling along outside at the lunch hour. You will not be forced to walk through a dark alley, be accosted for money, or solicited for drugs or sex, despite what may scare you about coming down this way during business hours. You can do it!! And I can pretty much guarantee you'll get out alive. Sighhhhhhhhhh...

We took his advice, completed all the paperwork, and had the monthly premium automatically deducted from our bank account. Unbeknownst to us, we continued to be charged for the old Mass Mutual policies after the Principal policy charges were instituted by Vision. Then our Vision rep passed away. We contacted Vision management to request that our duplicate-policy charges be refunded, as we had canceled the Mass Mutual accounts and should not have been charged. Sam Terrazzino at Vision explained to me that this is not an unusual error, and our rep would have needed to take a second step of contacting the old policy company even after termination paperwork was submitted, which did not happen in our case. Nevertheless, Vision refuses to refund the payments for the policy we canceled. Vision is unwilling to make this right. Avoid this company.

Heather was energetic from the start and genuinely seemed interested in understanding our business, to make sure I left with a plan that fully covered what we needed it to. I appreciated that she was willing to take the time to better explain aspects that I was unsure about, but didn't eat up either of our time by over-explaining details that were already understood. Heather didn't try and up-sell me additional policies or make me feel obligated to bundle my other insurances with her, but instead offered a few suggestions on policies I should consider later on, as the business expands. I received two other quotes, from different brokers before stopping in today and both quotes were sent to me, from submitting an online form and without me actually talking with someone. While the quoted amounts weren't as bad as I thought they'd be, I felt as though it would be better to talk to someone and make sure I even knew what the heck I was needing. I was honestly willing to pay more for the insurance, just to have the peace of mind that it's correct, but here's the best part; The policy that Heather set me up with, was about 28% cheaper than the first two!
