If you want to receive a medical bill LONG after your case is closed, go with Neal Gainsberg…read more I told Neal several times that my concern was to NOT have any providers asking for payment AFTER the settlement was disbursed and case closed. Meaning, I wanted ALL PROVIDERS to be paid BEFORE any disbursements of funds to me OR Neal. Sound reasonable, right? YET, I received a bill in the mail for a medical expense long after my case closed. I submitted the SAME BILL to Neal for payment months before my case closed. So, he was aware of the bill. I was very thorough with my bills and paperwork. And talking/dealing with Neal was worse than my accident. He's arrogant, condescending and downright rude. I hated having to talk to him. Even e-mailing was unpleasant. Why didn't I just seek other representation? Because, I would've had to pay this dude for the so called time he allegedly spent on my case. Don't buy the nice guy energy when you first talk to him, as that is his representative and you will see the REAL person soon enough. Nasty, haughty, patronizing. Just unpleasant and unlikable. I was glad when my case closed, so I would not have to interact with this guy anymore. 9/25/2020 The e-mail Neal Gainsberg noted in his response that I sent to him is listed below, as well as his response to me asking him about the unpaid bill, which I sent to Neal on January 14, 2020. Not once in his reply to me regarding the unpaid bill, did Neal accept blame and offer to pay a portion of the bill. And regarding "personal attacks", Neal was very rude and condescending in his tone with me. No lie has been told regarding my assessment of his character and behavior. 9/15/2020 "My point, which you're attempting to dance around, is all medical expenses should have been paid before any disbursements were made to me OR you. How many of your clients receive medical bills after their case is settled and closed??? That's okay, I will pay the bill. I really didn't want to reach out to you about this foolishness, because I regretted hiring you the minute that I saw your nice guy persona was nothing but a bait and switch. An act.. Typical of certain ilks. Your rudeness and condescending attitude did not go unnoticed and I was thankful to put this matter behind me, so I would not have to interact with you any longer. Dealing with your smugness and arrogance was worse than my accident. Then, to see your sloppy handling of my case left an unpaid medical bill long after the case is closed. Clearly more attention and concern would've been paid had my accident resulted in long term and lasting injuries. Thankfully that wasn't the case. Even more thankful that you couldn't make more money from my misfortune. No need to respond, because I do not care what you have to say." 9/15/2020 Neal Gainsberg response to my inquiry regarding the unpaid bill. "Tina, My records show that BCBSH paid this provider. Is this patient portion. I wasn't aware of this." His e-mail above is a lie, because I have records that show Neal was informed of the bill on January 14, 2020. There was no mention in Neal's e-mail regarding rectifying his inadequate representation that left me with an unpaid medical bill, yet Neal pretends in his response to my Yelp review that he was planning to remedy his oversight. Do not buy the charade..

I called his office and spoke to his assistant who took down some notes and then I received a phone call promptly from Mr. Wittmeyer himself. Unlike other lawyers who would take your case just to make money off of you, he told me that I had a better chance of negotiating a settlement myself, without going to court. I'm glad that I listened to him and that he didn't waste months/years of my life by taking the case to court. I was down on my outs and in tears when I started searching for a new attorney to take my case seriously and to take me serious. The day I started calling attorneys I talked to Jim Roche on the phone. He was one of 6 attorneys I spoke to that day. Out of the 6 he was the only one that stopped me from crying and gave me hope. He actually cared what I had to say. It wasn't just a case. I followed up for an in person interview with him to go over my case. My case was far from an easy one. I knew this in advance. When he spoke to me, he didn't care how hard the case was or how much the laws were against it. He took it on. Over the next year I would come to realize something really amazing about this office. The entire time Jim Roche was on my case I never felt out in the cold nor did I feel ignored. His office staff were always there to answer my calls and ease my anxiety. Specifically Kim Mazuc. There were plenty of calls to her while I was breaking down in tears that she is was kept me from crashing. She kept my hope up. Same as Jim. As my case went on I knew the chances of winning were slim to none. The laws in Illinois were against me. That didn't stop them from fighting for me. I was blown away by every single thing Jim did to keep my case going and how detailed and efficient it was. There was a time when I read a response he wrote and I literally broke down in tears. For so long I felt like I was fighting alone. But they changed that. I was no longer fighting it alone. I didn't win the case against the landlords however we received a judgement against the tenants. If I was ever asked since I didn't win against the landlords do I regret picking Theisen & Roche as my attorney office, I would say 100% NO! I wouldn't have it any other way. No one else would have fought for me the way they did. No one else would have felt like family calling. No one else would have been able to stop the tears and the anxiety. This place is not only highly respectable they are great people with great hearts. You won't find another attorney who will fight for you the way they do! You won't find office staff anywhere else that will treat you with the compassion they do. I promise you. This is where you want to go! Thank you Jim Roche & Kim Mazuc and everyone else from Theisen & Roche, LTD. 100% THANK YOU!
