My husband is a Effingham native so we have always wanted to patronize the performance center together. Luckily we have been able to see two amazing shows in the last couple of years we saw Kenny G play a mean saxophone and we saw the violin string Quartet. The center is very well maintained and offers parking and a wonderful selection of accessible parking. There is also a generous supply of street parking. If you go on a sold out show night I do recommend coming early as the concession stand with alcoholic beverages, sodas, popcorn, and candy can get rather long. This building is completely accessible and has accessible aids if anyone needs them requires them for any show that they are putting on. The only issue I have with this performance center is that they partner with Ticketmaster so you can still call and order your tickets at the box office but you still pay all the fees associated with Ticketmaster. read more

Effingham Performance Center - Concession stand - Performing Arts Near Me - Effingham, Illinois

Have been here many times. Have always had a good show. We have seen many country acts here and have never had a complaint about the show. The prices are reasonable and parking is not a problem. The only problem I have is the selling of alcohol. We have had one or two problems with people getting drunk and ruining the concert by their actions. Also. Make sure you eat before you come because the only food available is popcorn and candy. Also, make sure to only buy tickets from the Effingham Ticketmaster site. Otherwise you will pay way to much for the tickets . But I much prefer going to Effingham to see a show then any of the other venues around because of quality of the show, cleanliness of the theater, reasonable prices, and parking availability. read more

Pretty decent event center in the middle of Effingham. We saw The Office: a musical parody. Parking was easy and free. Got checked by security on the way in and they had two lines for concessions before being seated. Beer, wine, liquor was a decent selection for an affordable price. Pleasant bathroom facilities. The seating was individual cushioned seats with narrow isles. The best seats are in the front row or back row. It was a bit difficult to see over the people sitting in front of us. The Rosebud Theatre is now known as the Effingham Performance Center. Just wanted to stick that in before I got started. The first time I heard about the Rosebud, I was in complete disbelief. This is EFFINGHAM - not St. Louis, not even Springfield. What on earth is that kind of place doing in Effingham?! I was even more surprised to see the Firefly Grill next door, which looks like it was somehow caught up in a bad tornado and moved from Napa to Effingham. Anyway, once I got over the initial Twilight Zone feeling, I checked their concert list. Although there were a few big names, there wasn't anyone I wanted to see at the moment. I forgot they existed. A few months later, I was browsing the tour dates on Air Supply's website (yeah, I do that) when I noticed, of all places, the Rosebud! Who could miss that?? The only downside to the Rosebud (ok, ok, the EPC) is that tickets are expensive. We're not talking about $5 more than a similarly small venue elsewhere. I was used to paying $20-30/ticket for Air Supply at other venues vs almost $70/ticket for the mid-priced seats. Of course, when you factor in that you no longer have to drive 1-2 hours to get to a bigger city, you don't need a hotel room, etc., it's not bad at all. As a facility, this place is not exactly world-class, but it's definitely much nicer than anything you would expect to find in Effingham, Illinois. The bathrooms are very nice, the concessions area is clean, and the parking is convenient and plentiful. The auditorium itself is also pretty nice (much nicer than a dirty, sticky amphitheatre-type place). In checking out their website just now, I noticed that REO Speedwagon will be there soon...this may call for a trip to Effingham. read more

It's really nice to have a place this close to see good entertainment. The first time we thought about attending, we stopped in to see about ticket availability. The nice lady at the front desk had the lights turned on in the auditorium and took us in and showed us the seats that were available. We were very appreciative that she did. We have been to 4 concerts here and had a very good time. It is very informal and your able to move around freely. The seem to try to offer a wide variety of entertainment. The concessions are very reasonably price. We would suggest to give it a try if you have the opportunity. read more

We recently attended the Foreigner concert at this great location. But after purchasing premium tickets, seating in the third row, we were disappointed that right before the show the security guard came out & told people to come up & stand in front of the stage. So if we wanted to see, we had to stand the entire concert. The people who bought the lesser ticket got a better view than we did. Guess the next time we will purchase low end ticket and get the better view. Overall the music was great. read more
