EF (Education First) is a very disappointing company
I had a disappointing experience with EF (Education First) and I want to share my opinion with others wo consider to go on a language program with EF. I paid 14,000 euro for a high school exchange year to Ireland, expecting an experience that included organized activities and the chance to explore Ireland. Unfortunately, EF failed to deliver on their promises, leaving me feeling cheated and frustrated.
One of the primary reasons I chose EF was the assurance of exciting activities and immersive cultural experiences. However, throughout my entire stay, the promised activities either did not happen or were limited. It felt like false advertising, as the employees of EF repeatedly assured us that these activities would be organized and enjoyable. Instead, we were left disappointed and without the enriching experiences we were led to believe would be part of the program.
To make matters worse, when I expressed my desire to travel around Ireland during my free time, I was shocked to learn that EF offered no assistance in organizing such trips. If I wanted to explore the beautiful country I was in, I had to take matters into my own hands and arrange everything myself. This lack of support and guidance was a major letdown, considering the exorbitant amount I had already paid for the program.
Furthermore, EF did offer optional discovery tours, but the price they charged for these excursions was exorbitant. I expected these tours to be reasonably priced, given that I had already paid a significant sum for the program. However, the additional cost for a few days of exploring was simply beyond my budget, and I found it unfair that EF was trying to profit further from their already dissatisfied students.
Overall, my experience with EF was a frustrating and disappointing one. Their false promises regarding organized activities, the lack of assistance in planning personal trips, and the excessively priced discovery tours left me feeling like I had been taken advantage of. I regretfully conclude that EF does not prioritize the welfare and satisfaction of their students, but rather focuses on maximizing their own profits.
I would strongly advise anyone considering EF to think twice before investing their time and money in this organization. There are surely other language programs and educational opportunities available that will provide a more authentic and fulfilling experience without the disappointments and unnecessary expenses. read more
