I love how this place is hidden away and you have to go through the little tunnel with the book market to get there. The courtyard is so lovely, especially in summer with the roses growing. Tourists often take pictures here as well because it such a photogenic place. Inside there are many classrooms but not that much other facilities. There is no restaurant but the Atrium is at 2 min walking distance because it is located in the building next to this one (so it's almost like it is the same building). Inside Oudemanhuis there is a coffee corner where you can get coffee, tea and other drinks. There are sandwiches and a few pastries as well so I'm glad I can still get my coffee and maybe a snack in between classes.

The passage from the canal to the university dates back to 1601. When this building was used as an home for elderly men. That's why it's called Oudemanhuispoort. In the passage there is a little bookmarket and also a great route for tourists who want to go to Waterlooplein. The building itself gives you a flasback in time as the inside is completely modern. When you're in the building it takes you away from the busy city of Amsterdam. Which is good if you want to study ;). This is mainly the law faculty, social involved studies and philosophy are also held here. I have been to other buildings of the UVA but this will always be my favorite. Am a bit biast ofcourse.

There is a culture of silence here, so you will not see the bad reviews in the open, but the institute is notorious when you talk to anyone outside of it, usually you are met with a drop in expression and words like "I have never heard so many negative reviews about one place, how is it still allowed to be open?" The teachers are very arrogant, and the racism is very strong. You will have a very tough time if you do not fit their ideal vision of what an AMFI student should look like, which is rich and white. I am scared to even post this in fear that I will be made fun of and degraded by the teachers and my peers again. I have never felt worse about myself until I came here, and I have never been treated so poorly in any other establishment.

It's as good or better than many regular dentists. They really helped me with everything from behavioral to preventive teeth problems. It's a wonderful place. Great parking underneath but a good walk from the metro and not too far from the tram.

The Vrije universiteit is based in the southern part of Amsterdam, just outside of the ring road…read morearound centre of town. Ever since I was 18, I have spend time at the university for bachelor degree, master degree and continuing education. The university offers many studies. It is impossible to give an advise on the quality of education. However, for my field (economics) the VU seems more innovative than UVA (the other university in town). Tip: 1. To get there, take either the train to railway station Amsterdam Zuid or tram 5 or do like most students e.g. cycle. Around the building bicycles are parked, which clearly shows the preferred mode of transport. 2. Inside the VU, it can be confusing to move around. For example, the IT department is in a separate building, there is no reception (at least I could find none), the buildings are huge and there is even activitiy underground. You will find most students are very helpful. Make sure you know which building and room you need to go to and allow enough time to move to other buildings. 3. There is no free wifi for visitors. If you want wifi, ask if your host at the university can arrange this

Cafeteria at the ground floor and the Brug cafe at the forth floor of Building C/E is open for visitors. The Cafeteria have great and student priced menu for lunch and dinner time. I loved that they are doing more Asian Cuisine now, like japanese, indonesia, but only once in a while. The Brug Cafe is located in the glass passage between two buildings across the canal. It has really beautiful view over the city! The only thing is you need to pin (maestro card) because they don't accept cash in the Uni.
