I have done a lot of business with EECU and I have not had any problems until now. my son has an auto loan with them and changed auto insurance. I have submitted verification 4 times this month and he is still receiving letters stating he has no insurance. I have gone as gas r as going into the branch itself. not sure what else to do at this point. This is totally ridiculous, if someone has any advice I would surely appreciate it read more

Their online banking leaves a lot to be desired. Feel like they are always experiencing online techincal difficulties. Either poor tech support or getting hacked and need to fix? Also deceiving implementation of their interest if you pay more on principal amount, the monthly interest amount is not based on remaining balance, as I noted in prior eval but this eval is based on me trying to update info and make an online auto loan payment. I got out every 2 minutes. Again an eval based on not just one instance yet a systematic issue with potentially enormous risk to customers. I will never get another loan from this institution. read more

Try to avoid if all possible as they will add additional interest charges once done paying everything off. Called in February to find out if there were going to be additional fees for paying off my loan early, was told no. Called again in March and asked the same question and was given the same answer. Called on the due date because I was having problems making the payment the night before. Paid everything off before 3:00pm. The next day I get a notification that I'm being charged interest. Contacted EECU and they told me that I should have asked for the total loan payoff amount. If you are adding an additional interest charge after everything was paid off and on time and without being told, sounds like a hidden fee. read more

THIS IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY. Absolutely the worst financial firm I've ever worked with. I have experience investing with LPL, Fidelity, TCG, Merrill Lynch and a small account with Stanley Morgan. I cannot get the money in my HSA invested. It is insane. For the past 3 years I've called every few months to try to get this small transaction to take place and we can't figure it out. It is a complete joke. I refuse to pay the 5% commission fee for their investment side to invest the money (it is insane to me that this is the fee inflicted for clicking a few buttons to transfer funds into the market). The only reason I still have an account here is that, due to regulations associated with HSA's I have to keep them as that is who my employer is contracted with (I believe this is it- I know I can't change who I deposit money with as my employers finance department told me I can't switch). I cannot stress enough: if you have the option go to a different bank. read more

As someone with two other accounts at EECU, I've never had any complaints--until now. When I reached out for help during a financial hardship, I was thrown into a nightmare of bad customer service between EECU and Mastercard. I spent over an hour being bounced back and forth, with both sides refusing to take ownership. I was given six different phone numbers between the two companies, but none led to real help. In fact, when I called the number on the back of my card (as advised by an EECU rep), I was connected to yet another EECU rep who couldn't assist me. I was put on hold multiple times, hung up on, and left to hear the same line: "It's not us, call them." This is unacceptable for any customer, let alone someone facing a financial hardship. Finally, someone from Account Resolutions provided assistance, but the journey to get there was unnecessarily exhausting. While my past experiences with EECU have been good, this incident left me questioning their commitment to customer care. read more

Paid off my car loan they kept my gap . When I went to pay off my car loan the balance was higher than my principal to pay off . Thieves !! Predatory auto lending. Also when we refinanced with them they meddled with our credit trying to get us to combine balances , which have since been paid off . These people suck !!! Stay away from them . I pay $300/mo in car insurance and they took my car payment and added another $200 to my car payment every month because i didnt have "full coverage", complete scam, i will never finance another vehicle through a credit union let alone EECU, they will never have my business or friends/family business ever again. read more

This place can go to hell and don't pass go. As a local branch credit union they are fine. I got it a long time ago and have never talked to them or had a reason to talk to them. Then decided it was a good idea to do an auto loan refinance. What a nightmare it has been so far. They never follow up on your application and I had to call them. They were supposed to contact me on the last day of July and never happened. Once my loan was finally booked talking to them is impossible. They claim I have a "code word" supposedly I used to open my credit union account years ago. They said email a copy of my license which did. They never followed up on it even though I emailed them back. They then claim I have to sign a letter stating this also. I did that and still never heard back. The financing terms are borderline illegal if not fully illegal. My previous lender would let me pay up to 3 months in advance. It appears EECU only will let you go 2 months. On top of this, if you don't pay the full amount it will NOT deduct from your payment and go to interest and principal. THEN even though your due date is past the 2 month line they put your due date is on "x date. So if I make two full payments from Sept to November, my due date will still say November. It doesn't even disclose there is no date due because as I said your payment will only go to interest and principal. I will be in contact with an attorney soon. If I can't get past removing a stupid code word over the phone and they cannot even talk to me, they need to be held accountable. The only way to contact them for me so far is text which supposedly that is just fine with them but God forbid if I want to talk to customer service. I have been with EECU for about 15 yrs checking and mortgage a few cars. I recently tried to finance a car with them and was denied. It was pretty disappointing but the small dealer referred me to city credit union in dallas and they gave me a 5.74 on a used car for 72 months. Getting a hold of them on the phone is a challenge also. read more

You should not have to call in to limit the sharing of your personal information. Additionally, there is no way to prove that they truly opted you out of sharing your personal information. You just have to take the operator's word for it. This sounds like a Class Action Lawsuit waiting to happen. read more

Banked here for 30 years until my online banking account was hacked. Branch manager could have cared less. said "it happens all the time". They did not have a protocol or procedure of what to do, or information of what to do next to give me. Was more concerned about locking the doors at 5 o'clock than helping me while I stood there inside the bank. All the bad reviews in here must be the employees of other larger nationwide banks looking for your business. They're all terrible and don't care about you as an individual. I've had nothing but good experiences with EECU! They always help me and have looked out for me several times when things get off track. From buying things online and never receiving what you paid for, issues with transfers on mobile trading or being scammed in anyway I've always been able to rely on them to get my money back. The worst Credit Union with the worst customer service. When you over pay your account they put it into their Savings account and won't return the funds to the original. Their banking system sucks and they try to keep your money without even telling you. read more

Since they were paying less than 1% interest, I recently wire transferred my savings to a real bank-one that actually offers competitive rates. It was a nightmare! When my funds had left EECU and not arrived at the new bank, I tried to check on the status with the EECU representative. I was once again asked to jump through more "security" hoops. Here was my response: Actually, I am totally fed up with trying to do business with EECU. I have wasted hours on the phone (mostly on hold) and on the Internet trying to communicate with EECU staff and deal with your messed up Docusign system. In order to contact your wire transfer department, I first have to call your main number and wait on hold for 40-50 minutes for someone to finally answer and transfer me. Then, I hold some more waiting for a wire transfer department representative. Now, you insist that I once again deal with your ridiculous pseudo security system in order to learn the status of my $60,000 wire transfer. No thanks! I instead choose to completely terminate my business relationship with EECU. read more

The manage Debbie was extremely knowledgeable, professional and over all very pleasant to deal with. Brandon also gave me great customer service. This seems to be the main branch so my review applies to all branches. I obtained an auto loan 4 years ago and paid it off quickly. They never notified DMV to release the lien. Now DMV says I have to get original, signed letter of release on their letterhead to release the vehicle. I fulfilled my part of the contract. Now I have to force them to complete doing their job. read more

I was new to Texas, and looking for a good credit union to match the one in my home state. Unfortunately, I went with EECU because they were the closest, but honestly they are so damned bad at...well everything. What set me over the top was when I realized that their "customer service" can be bad/racist if you're BIPOC and you have/make good money legally. Why? They're so used to snubbing their noses at BIPOC. I went to go get a cashiers check for deposit on a house purchase, the teller asked to see identification other than my TX drivers license and EECU card, then asked me a few security questions as well. Luckily I had my passport ID card with me. One of the security questions was my phone number, and I was so miffed I responded "here's the cell for that number, do you want to call it to confirm?" While I was upset, I maintained my cool, yet the security guard was lurking like he wanted to get involved. Guess they're so used to being unprofessional that they have to rely on armed security as a show of force to throw customers out of their branches. They treat customers like complete shite unless you are white. I walked into a branch and one teller had just finished with a customer, was being polite and thanking her for coming as she walked away, then proceeded to eyeball then ignore me to turn to talk to their colleague and left me standing. A third teller had to come out of the back area to help me. There is definitely racist overtones here, and I don't support this kind of shit. Don't walk...run from these type. read more

If you've read over the input here from others you already have an idea of what you will be in for if you deal with EECU. In October I bought a vehicle from Shottenkirk in Prosper and although I was pre approved with Bank of America I allowed myself to be persuaded to go with EECU instead. That was mistake number one, don't deal with Shottenkirk! See their FB Page for my complete review of how a dealership can wreck a customer relationship. EECU seems to prioritize force placing vehicle insurance as a revenue producing activity. In answer to a request I mailed proof of insurance. Then with another notice I faxed proof of insurance. When they force placed coverage anyway I faxed proof of insurance again. The more I thought about it the madder I got. So back to Bank of America. Financing put in place, EECU paid off in full and the FIRING of EECU was complete. No, the insurance cost was not refunded! Run, don't walk away from any transaction where EECU is being pushed on to you. They are bad news all the way. read more
