The interiors here are impeccable, you won't find a single nail on the floor and the room doesn't smell like cheap chemicals aka mertayolet. From the outside CANS, might seem packed with clients and it might actually deter you from going in but fret not, they have space on the 2nd floor and at the back for more seats and more clients. Service as efficient and great, the nail techs were very careful with my nail beds and polish application looked awesome. The chemical is a bit strong so be aware. The downside with it is that the whole process is longer as it takes quite a few coatings to perfect. Coco Nail Studio in Alabang however, is proud to offer a faster way of applying gel polish with their exclusive (for now?) machines that chops off more than half the time required, making the coating dry in seconds. Even I'm impressed. The speed of the process is almost a bad thing, as the interiors of Coco Nail Studio make you want to stay there for copious amounts of time. They opted to use regular sofas to do the nail spa treatments, so you're always comfortable in your seat. I don't have my nails done but I'd recommend Coco Nail Studio to anyone in a heartbeat.

I am notorious amongst friends as to my being picky and having high standards for my mani, so when I vouched for Tonic, my friends even suggested for us to throw our freidn's bridal shower there. Cutting kids' hair is very challenging, especially when the kid is either hyper-active, not used to strangers or both, which is the case with my daughter. Robots and Dolls have the big guns when it comes to distracting little children from what is happening; toys, mini cars doubling as barber's chairs, a big TV blasting Hi-5, and iPads full of kids' apps. That somehow restrained my daughter from moving too much, along with me and our helper teaming up to make her sit still. But Ariel, the barber was so patient. He took his time cutting my little one's hair, careful not invade her circle of trust which was me and her nanny. He was even able to style her hair with bangs, which I thought would be impossible. The session lasted for over 30 minutes. Grown-ups can get groomed there too, but Robots and Dolls designed their shop especially for kids. I would love to come back there with my daughter soon and have her try the "pedicute." I asked the staff what that was about, she said it was just cleaning kids' feet, trimming their nails and if the parents approve, apply kid-friendly nail polish to their little toenails.

After hitting a few stores, we decided to get our nails done at Get Polished, a nail salon which we both have never tried. We were attracted into the store mostly because of it's name. It was pretty much what we wanted to have done - get polished. Secondly, the nice interiors did intrigue us. Rich, luxurious colors of purple, deep magenta and pink popped out against the white ceiling and gray damask walls. Service was lovely and wonderful as expected. The only downside (if you can call it that) was that my friend and I had a hard time choosing from the wide range of brands and colors of polish that they had available. Well, we should have expected it. After all, the salon's name says it all, right?
