Returned from vacation. Took glasses to office to either get glasses fixed or replaced. Head nurse/ associate said it has been to long for warranty replacement, however she was going to fixed under my free scratch warranty. I said no, I would prefer warranty repair, because the glasses came with the defect and I want to save my scratch repair if needed later. Head nurse/associate got defensive. She then said "How do I know you didn't do something to the glasses". I replied "Because I told you so", I tried to wear them only once. I then asked if she was implying that I was being less then truthful. I got no response. I then said I paid almost $400.00 for these glasses. I then laid the glasses on the counter and said either fix them or keep them. Later Dr Rice Jr. called me and said he was able, using a strong detergent to get them clean. I went, picked up my glasses. I have been using Dr Rice for a long time. I did not get an apology from the Nurse/ associate for implying that I was Less Than Truthful. Because of this, all of my family had to find another optometrist. Dr Rice exam and demeanor is first class. But, don't go there expecting simple respect from the staff.

He got rude and offended afterwards, very unprofessional. They charged me for a new contact fitting ($50 out of pocket) when all I needed was an eye exam and updated prescription (free with my insurance). Then when I tried to get my updated prescription, they refused to give me my contact and eye glass prescription because I didn't want to purchase directly from their office - which is illegal.

I've been to private offices, WalMart, and LensCrafters optometrists before, and since I'm new in town I decided to try a private practice this time. From the get-go I was welcomed warmly by the staff, and wasn't hustled for the best eye-exam options. I was simply informed of the pros/cons of different tests, and then was seen by Dr. Howard Ross. He was very professional and courteous from the beginning. He also explained the tests I took extremely well for anyone to understand. After the exam he walked me to the front desk, and asked me if I had any further questions or concerns. I will definitely be back when my next exam is needed, and will bring my wife over when she needs her visit. Much appreciated, and great service. Highly recommended!

It was pushed fast and I had a severe panic attack. I left with no surgery. In the meantime, the infection in my sinus became severe enough that i was sent to OU ER and to my PCP to get a higher level of care. Surgery was rescheduled for April 29, 2026. Although i was not given Reglan this time, my care at DRH was still concerning. My husband was told he would get text messages throughout the surgery. We verified with 2 people that the correct number was on file. He never got one text, he reported it to the volunteers and was still never given updates. The volunteer kept telling he would get a text but made no effort to find out why surgery was taking so long or how i was. Surgery was 4 hours long. After surgery he was not given any information about how my surgery went. It was not until 2 days later when I was able to log into the patient portal, that i was able to see Dr notes that explained everything. Then on May 15 I sent a message to patient relations with my concerns and was told i would receive a letter in the mail. I did so about a week later telling me that they in fact did send several texts. case closed. So I sent another email to patient relations explaining that something is faulty with the system because he did NOT get a text and that i'm also upset the the complaint about how the medicine was administered incorrectly, was not even addressed in the letter. That was 2 weeks ago and I have not received any response. So now my complaint is about Patient relations, it should be renamed as hospital relations, as it is only defending the hospital and not advocating for the patient.
