The older black gentleman barber, who claims to have 25 years of experience, had no clue how to cut a simple classic side part. I ended up with a disastrous cut despite showing photos and clearly explaining my expectations. He cut a thick hard line down to the skin at my part section. This wasn't what I asked for , nor what the photo showed. Additionally, when I told him that I normally use a clay pomade product, he looked like at me as if I were speaking Chinese. How did he not know of mens hair products? He proceeded to spray some cheap hairspray as a substitute. The other barber stepped in and gave him a jar of pomade. My barber applied it to my hair by smearing it on top leaving chunks of product in spots. One of the worst results I've had in a barber shop. It's a shame that this is the second barber I've tried in the Georgetown area and both have been disasters. I hate needing to drive to Lex for a decent cut. We, boyfriend and I, went in for his hair cut. The long hair he had spent 11 months growing had to go. The other reviews were good, my friend actually knows the owner, so why not try it out? Why not? Well first it's in a strip mall. Strip stores headed out of Georgetown. Not glamorous or nice, in fact kinda run down inside. Run down like a bunch of guys live there. Which they do, at least a few hours a day. Most guys don't notice things like tv cables hanging on a coat rack. Or carpet that is badly stained. At this point in this review you're like, "what? 5 stars at it starts like this?" I am a woman. I notice these things aesthetically, but men won't. If they do they won't care. The skill of these guys was amazing! 3 chairs constantly full. Walk in ready. The guy he got was the best! Took that rowdy hair mess and turned into my handsome man again! His hair was the best it has ever been, not kidding. The barber even shaved his neck, shaped his beard, and did the most professional job ever. Sadly we cannot remember his name but the younger man in the corner chair is the one we want every time! Totally doing the whole thing again! Sidebar: as a female in a barber shop I don't regularly plan to attend, just happens sometimes. These guys also talked sports with me and made me feel welcome. I had been going to the local chain for quite a while and its in and out, no special thrills. So I decided it was time I wanted to try a barber, being a guys, and I never seen a guy working at the chain place... So I just ended up stoping in here, had no clue what to expect, only that I knew they had been there for a while, and they had the working barber candy stripes going outside. lol First off, it doesn't come off as the spit shined establishment you may be used to from a chain, but I hung in there and was pleased. First off, you got the man wall with every kind of haircut shown. lol So I was able to dial in my comfort number, and then the gentleman went to work on me, I noticed a few upscale things that I don't experience at the local chain (he took some extra care trimming around the face, even with a razor blade, and really spent the time around the ears and back, and all around for that matter.., so I have to say I was very pleased at the service. After all the little extras, I have to say my haircut was better balanced on my face then at the chain. he took care of my slightly bushy eyebrows as well without asking. So if I get the same level of detail and time spent in the chair next time I will definitely be coming back, cause I personally feel relaxed when someone is working on my hair. lol So if you want to have a guy conversations, sports or such, this is the place to spend that 20-30 minutes. They do enjoy talking and it becomes a nice group conversation with the others stylist and sometimes another customer. Its unique, different and I think welcoming to any guy who is used to the standard female chain stylist. Nothing unprofessional what so ever, very respectful people. Might be a great place for a mans haircut. Never, never, go there if you are a woman, and hoping to get any kind of a hair style. Patty, was who I unfortunately had, and it was the worst haircut, that I have ever had in my entire life. Totally scalped me, and was beyond uneven in every way imaginable. read more

This has been where I get haircuts since 2005. Nice place with three very good barbers. Family type environment that you'd be easily comfortable taking your kids for a haircut. Owner has a tv that's always on and he caters to what his customers would like to watch while waiting their turn. No inappropriate TV shows, music or conversations. Barbers are respectful of their customers and it's a relaxing place. read more
