I've now had TWO dental appointments cancelled by Dr. Scott's office within the same year, and both times the handling was unacceptable. The first cancellation happened 10 months ago. I was told they'd "get me in on the next cancellation," but after months of me repeatedly calling to follow up, nothing ever opened up. Eventually I gave up and scheduled another appointment -- 7 months out. Now, just 3 weeks before that appointment, I called to confirm it myself (thankfully), only to be told it had been cancelled AGAIN because the doctor would be out all week. No phone call. No notification. No effort to proactively contact patients. The solution offered? "We can put you on the cancellation list." That same cancellation list already failed once and effectively delayed my cleaning and x-rays by nearly a year. What's most frustrating is the complete lack of urgency or accountability. This office is only open 4 days a week, yet there seems to be no plan to accommodate the backlog of patients affected by repeated cancellations. No extended hours, no added availability, no meaningful attempt to make things right. When I asked for a recommendation for another dentist, the only response I got was "sorry." So here's my recommendation instead: if you're looking for a reliable dentist in Greensboro, avoid Dr. Scott's office unless you enjoy waiting close to a year for appointments that may never happen. read more

1st appointment to see Dr Scott, complained of tooth pain top molar with old crown, told him previous dentist was going to put a new crown on it. He said there was nothing wrong with itand I had another tooth that was worse so he crowned that one. Fast forward 2 years he had informed me I had a large cavity beneath previous mentioned crown and it would need to be pulled. He went back and looked at previous xray and apologized said he missed seeing it. Tooth could have been saved except for his inattention to detail, as itshowed on 3 previous xrays. So he pulled the tooth, had difficulties broke it into pieces DID NOT XRAY afterwards - 2 weeks went by I was still in pain went back and told them there was pieces of tooth left behind not to mention stitches dangling down whichthey removed. I could feel it with my tongue his assistant checked and said no theres nothing there I said but I can feel it again she said I assure you theres nothing there. Sent me on my way NO XRAYs. Later that same day frustrated I pulled out 3 large pieces of tooth myself 1/8" in size. Fast forward 2 months had my 1st appointment with a NEW Dentist, she immediately referred me to an Oral Surgeon as the wound from previous tooth was not healed and had pus seeping out. Luckily was able to get into see surgeon nextday, his xray revealed large root left in my mouth which was cause of infection. 2 days later had surgery to remove root left in from poor dental work by inept Dentist with no attention to detail. This infection could have been fatal if not caught. The surgery cost me $1500. AVOID THIS POOR EXCUSE of a DENTIST DR EDWARD SCOTT. read more

My family and I have been going to Dr. Scott for about 5 years now. I have not had a disappointing visit EVER. These folks are professional with a chair side manner that makes one feel at ease. When you have folks poking and prodding your teeth with sharp instruments, you want to be as at ease as possible, lol. Give them a shot. You will not be disappointed. read more

I must say I am beyond shocked! I am a new patient, and called Dr. Scott's office in advance to make sure they took my Cigna insurance. They said yes, so I had a cleaning and annual exam (which is supposed to be covered at 100%). After a couple of weeks I got a bill for $135.30, after insurance. So called the ins. co, and they said my plan was not in their network. Called back and forth several times between office and ins. Apparently, their office does take some Cigna plans, but NOT MINE. Although the office INSISTS they don't know of any other Cigna plans. Despite many calls, a letter, a text, Dr. Scott told me that I must have a terrible plan and REFUSED TO DISCUSS IT AT ALL. All he said was pay your bill or we are sending it to collections!!!!! It's not a late bill...I just wanted to discuss this with him to see if we could straighten it out. My Cigna did pay part of the bill (out of network), so that's why the balance is $135.30. Anyway, I was beyond shocked by Dr. Scott's callousness and hatefulness toward me, when I was only trying to have a DISCUSSION as to what could be done. I have read nothing but good things about him. I am a new patient, and also live in his neighborhood, and this is how he treats me?? I'm 64 years old and have never been treated so badly by a doctor or dentist in all my days. I don't have a bad plan, it pays 100% of cleanings and annual exams. The problem lies in the office not knowing there is more than 1 Cigna plan, and they refuse to believe me when I tell them that. Of course I would have never gone there if they didn't take my insurance. I was trying to come up with some kind of a compromise with Dr. Scott due to the fact that his staff told me they take my plan, when in fact they don't. HE REFUSES TO EVEN HAVE A DISCUSSION WITH ME...he just said, pay or else. What kind of professionalism is this??? Blown away... UPDATE: I went in to pay my bill in person, because I didn't trust him at this point. I walked in, put the bill down on the counter ( 2 ladies sat on the other side, and I did not speak to them, cause I was mad about this whole thing), and turned and walked out. Then as soon as I get home, I have a text from Dr. Scott, telling me that they have me on camera THROWING the bill at them, and if I ever come in there again, he will have me ARRESTED!!!! This man is unhinged! I said, show me the picture, show me the footage!!! He didn't respond. I said if setting the bill on the countertop is considered "THROWING", then you need to refer to a dictionary!! I have no idea what is wrong with this man! I just wanted to discuss the issue of his staff and my insurance, and all he has done is threaten me with collections (again, my bill was not late--I contacted him as soon as I got it), and then threaten me with being ARRESTED after I brought my bill and check in!!! Upon arrival I was greeted with a great smiling receptionist. The office was a V E R Y warm and inviting atmosphere. I felt comfortable and the energy in the office was awesome. The assistants Jenny and Brenda were great. Dr. Scott took his time and made me feel really at ease. Dr. Scott came highly recommended to me. I traveled from Ohio to see him. Great dentists and staff. Dr. Scott did a wonderful job with my implant procedure. I had a dental emergency on a Sunday afternoon and was able to contact him on his emergency line. Was also able to get an appointment the next day. read more
