I know this sounds crazy, but I not only don't mind going to the dentist, I actually look forward to it now, but that only happened after starting to see Dr. Stewart. She makes you feel very important, comfortable, and at ease. She is very personable and always asks about your life. She also explains any procedures she needs to do very thoroughly so you feel like you're on the same page throughout your care. This new building is fantastic. They just moved in a few months ago so not everything is 100% finished, but already it is very modern, clean, and inviting. The staff are super friendly, and along with free coffee and snacks while you wait, they do a fantastic job making you feel very welcomed.

I recently went with my terrified sister, and they kept her talking and distracted the entire time. It may just be me, but sometimes Dr. McNitt seems a little condescending about how I act (so what if I get a little chatty when I get nervous?), but that could also be because I'm gassed up. Regardless, of all the dentists I've been to, this is my favorite and I will return for my check-ups. They're also good at helping you utilize your insurance and working with your budget.

I ended up not having my appointment, they wanted me to pay cash because they couldn't find my insurance information. I wasn't going to do that. So later in the day when I checked with my employer, they had their insurance agent get directly in touch with me and she had no idea what the problem was. She could find me in the system just fine, and in fact we called Burch Dental jointly to solve the the problem at 12:40 in the afternoon. Their answering service answered, and said they were on lunch from one until 2 o'clock. This was 20 minutes to one, and they didn't answer. evidently they do not take lunch from 1-2, this was 12:40. This is simply too much hassle to get a dentist when there are others that are available without this much inconvenience. I have no idea what their issue is, I'm just going to move on. I cannot recommend after this amount of problems.

I signed up for care through https://dentallifeline.org/, which offers Donated Dental Services for needy individuals. Donated Dental has a long waiting list, and you only receive services once. It took me several years to get to the top of the list, and Dr. Ryan volunteered his services for me. I ended up having to have two extractions, and a deep cleaning/root planing. Dr. Ryan gave me such a thorough, detailed examination, and then went over the best options for my care. I felt so at peace and at ease with him and his staff, and they were all willing to give me the time I needed to get all the information I needed. Tanya, and Dr. Ryan's office staff, gave me valuable information on how to find an affordable dental plan that I could sign up for, so that I can continue receiving care through Moore Dentistry. Unfortunately, I just found out on Friday after hours that they are not covered under my Medicare plan. If you have ever had severe tooth pain, you know how miserable it is! Don't expect the dentists at Machesney Park Family Dental to be sympathetic about your pain. She refused to call me in anything for pain.
