I was always treated with a great amount of respect there. My dog never had really super serious problems while I was his client, but he was always there for me with every case of worms- and with a hound, there were lots. Developing a relationship is important in Kevin's practice- vets tend to see a lot of pet owners that are unprepared at best. So, he tends to treat pretty aggressively, and order more diagnostics than other vets might to protect himself. If you disagree with him, stay calm, be reasonable and be assertive, and he will be as well. Time in the practice and not skipping out on regular visits helps this along. Plus, there are a few intangibles as a client of Kevin's. They have separate waiting rooms for cats and dogs. They price match prescription medication. And if you're a client, you will find no better rates for boarding. Bottom line is that Kevin's practice deserves a better rating than it has. I can't give it a five star review because of the price, but he kept my business for five years- that's got to count for something.

They charged me a $1.00 biohazard fee...I think they do this when your pet vomits or poops and they have to clean it up, honestly, no problem, I would charge more. My second visit was with my scared little black cat who apparently became a monster when I left her to have X-rays and an enema -- I don't blame her. Dr. G and vet tech, Heather, were so unbelievably kind to me and sympathetic to my little demon, even though she had turned into a clawing, biting beast. I was embarrassed, but Heather was so nice about it. Dr. G called the next day for follow up, it was so nice of her.

That same cat turned into butter with Dr. Starvetsky. Jekyll needed to have her blood pressure checked. That's a tough one because it usually takes multiple people to hold Jekyll down and then we get a high reading because the cat is so stressed out. When Dr. Starvetsky took Jekyll's blood pressure, she stayed calm and got a lower (more accurate) reading. We have multiple pets who are older and have some chronic health issues. I feel very confident with Dr. Starvetsky as our veterinarian. Everyone that I have met so far at this clinic has been super helpful.

When I had a problem with my cat peeing blood, a year or two ago, first I couldn't get anyone to answer my call; second nobody would return my call from the Emergency line. I stay because I love Dr. Sarsfield. I don't usually have a problem, but it took me 7 days to get my cat to be seen when she was peeing blood! Needless to say, I was angry. We foster kittens, one of our kittens had a heart murmur and we were quoted $600 elsewhere to get him neutered. Dr Jehna knew about the situation and that we rescue kittens with our own money, she neutered him for much less. They hold shot clinics at their office and Steelton Cats over the weekends, plus neuter and spay stray cats at Steelton Cats. They are not only compassionate about their clients animals but also the community as well! They have always cared so much about our pets, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
