I will not be returning to this vet office. In my experience, the care here felt chaotic,…read moreunprofessional, and deeply lacking in basic communication. During my cat's appointment, the vet announced that she had a heart murmur, then immediately launched into a stream of medical jargon directed at another staff member--without acknowledging that I, the actual owner of the cat, was standing right there. When I asked how worried I should be, the vet told me, "Now is the time to flip the f*ck out." He repeatedly described the situation as a "sh*t sandwich," which was not only unhelpful but wildly inappropriate. Instead of explaining possible causes, symptoms to monitor, or any range of treatment options, he jumped straight to pushing a cardiology referral in Maryland. There was no discussion, no reassurance, and no attempt at actual patient education--just pressure and panic. I've since moved my cat's care to the humane society down the road. Their prices are significantly more reasonable, but more importantly, their staff is compassionate, communicative, and thorough. They take the time to explain what's going on, offer a full range of treatment options, and make sure I leave with actual understanding instead of confusion and fear. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this vet office. There are far better options nearby for both your pet's well‑being and your own peace of mind.

I've taken two of my cats to Hershire now and I can confidently report that this is the best…read moreveterinary care in the area. I'm so glad I found these animal lovers -- they have been amazing. My first visit was for eye conjunctivitis and the doctor was pretty quick with everything, the vet tech was wonderful and kind, I was in and out with eye gel and antibiotics. They charged me a $1.00 biohazard fee...I think they do this when your pet vomits or poops and they have to clean it up, honestly, no problem, I would charge more. My second visit was with my scared little black cat who apparently became a monster when I left her to have X-rays and an enema -- I don't blame her. Dr. G and vet tech, Heather, were so unbelievably kind to me and sympathetic to my little demon, even though she had turned into a clawing, biting beast. I was embarrassed, but Heather was so nice about it. Dr. G called the next day for follow up, it was so nice of her.

Dr. Starvetsky is AMAZING! We recently moved. We have a spicy cat named Jekyll. I have seen some…read morevery good veterinarians and vet techs struggle with her. That same cat turned into butter with Dr. Starvetsky. Jekyll needed to have her blood pressure checked. That's a tough one because it usually takes multiple people to hold Jekyll down and then we get a high reading because the cat is so stressed out. When Dr. Starvetsky took Jekyll's blood pressure, she stayed calm and got a lower (more accurate) reading. We have multiple pets who are older and have some chronic health issues. I feel very confident with Dr. Starvetsky as our veterinarian. Everyone that I have met so far at this clinic has been super helpful.

When I had a problem with my cat peeing blood, a year or two ago, first I couldn't get anyone to answer my call; second nobody would return my call from the Emergency line. I stay because I love Dr. Sarsfield. I don't usually have a problem, but it took me 7 days to get my cat to be seen when she was peeing blood! Needless to say, I was angry. I have been a loyal client and expect the same loyalty when my pet is in dire need. They are very kind. Lately it seems they are have staffing problems for the front desk. And I will continue to go there. I've always been happy with them, but had a really bad experience that has stuck with me.

She surgically removes the kittens and kills them!! Who can tolerate something like that if the business is supposed to be helping our pets? Plus her one employee that is supposed to be retired from the state police civilian side is so obnoxious and rude that she is dragging the business down. Maybe she's the reason that the three vets left. She is only an assistant but you would think she owns the business! Maybe she should have stayed working at the state police if she needed the extra income!! The short little guy there sadly to say has numerous mental problems. They make the whole experience as good as it can be under the circumstances. The pet doesn't even know what happened. No stress taking them to the vet and much easier on the family as well. Our dog was diagnosed with kidney disease about three months ago. Since the only thing we could do…read morewas modify her diet, it became even more critical to identify the right solution. Our vet prescribed the usual prescription diet you'll find at most vet's offices, but I just couldn't get past the gut feeling that there had to be something better. As fate would have it, our dog walker referred us to Hershey Pet Food Company. John (and his wife) took the time to talk to me about our dog's diet, and suggested raw food. John is incredibly well-versed and researched in this area; coupled with, he put me directly in touch with one of the food company's owners to answer some additional questions we had. Three months later, I got the results of our dog's blood work back today and her levels have reversed! BUN is in a normal range (went from 41 to 30); creatinine went from 2.1 to 1.8. I am beyond overjoyed as our four legged gal is our first child and we want to keep her around as long as we possibly can. I'm a believer! I'd also like to add that the prices are very reasonable. I want to support our community and small business, but I also professionally talk about how to save money, so I had to do my research. Pet toys are around the same price as what I've seen on Amazon, and in some cases, a dollar or so cheaper. I would support their business regardless, but I think it's worth noting that you're getting so much more value for your dollar by supporting a community business and access to the information that John and Brandy have to offer.
