It's rare to find grounds these days with even a little bit of grass, and this one delivers -- the outfield is lush, making it a great place to play. The ground itself is huge, which makes clearing the boundary quite a task -- lots of running involved! The AstroTurf wicket has a nice bounce to it, which adds a good challenge for both batters and bowlers. Parking is decent but a little walk away from the actual field. The one downside is the lack of shade -- on a hot day, it can get brutal with almost no trees around. Also, no restrooms close by, which is definitely something to keep in mind. Overall, a solid ground for competitive cricket with a few areas that could make it even better. Four stars!

For those who are older, the park has two paved paths that are maybe .25 miles and uphill. The paths are surrounded by mature deciduous trees. One path leads to the side edge of the park which is closed to cars but can be exited by foot. The other path leads to the baseball diamond. If you take a side path instead of following it up, you will get to the basketball court. The park looks small from the front but it just keeps going back and back and back and up. It was an absolute joy to be able to walk sure-footed on a paved path with my Service Dog yet still be amongst the trees.

Bring your own water! This park doesn't have any water spigots, drinking fountains, or flush toilets. There's a port-a-potty at one end of the parking lot. The parking lot is big and free. (The whole park is free). Usually this park doesn't have many people or dogs. The road it's on doesn't get much traffic either, making Welsh Park relaxing and quiet.

Just while searching for beaches in a 30 minute driving radius, we ran into this gem of a park that's so well maintained. They have ample free parking and the walk to the bay is so quick. The bay might not be the best to walk on as sand is relatively less with more gravels and getting down to it from the stairs is little difficult even for well grown adults. This could definitely be wheelchair accessible in a certain way. They also have few picnic enclosures and a memorial to one of their town's fallen soldiers. The walking pavement is neatly laid out for a calm, peaceful and relaxing walk. We went on overcast conditions and had to return to the car just before the rain caught up. Will definitely return here for summers to watch the sunset in this beautiful bay/park.

Decent amount of benches and there is a nice table under a gazebo type situation.. perfect for enjoying a lunch in the park. The best part are the trees!! I had no idea that there were many different trees planted in the park--with the added value of being able to read what kind of tree you were lucky enough to come across. I find that so dope and a great unexpected lesson in science for my LO. She found it quite interesting. And the best kept secret.. there is a butterfly park in the back of the park with seems to be a cool trail.. I was just too chicken to go since it was about dusk and no one else accompanied us. There is also a cute butterfly garden adorned with colorful stones, benches, and paintings.
