This daycare was originally managed by another owner, and was acquired by Educational Playcare, starting January 2017. It was a smaller establishment as compared to Educational Playcare. It has been about 4 months that the transition has happened, and few things good and not-so-good to share :-)
Pros:
1. The Tadpole system which has the ability to share videos and pictures during the day is greatly appreciated. It always brightens the day for me and my husband, to see those updates. Upgrade to the automatic monthly payment system, as well as the security system with coded entry has been very helpful, too.
2. They have upgraded all the furniture and toys to wooden items, which is great for the kids. It's always nice to see brand new toys for the kids to play with, instead of just old ones as it was previously there.
3. The curriculum that has been brought about by Educational Playcare is very well thought of. It's nice that the curriculum includes music, yoga and theater too. It is important to have the brains of these little ones be stimulated for better development, and it's nice to see that EPC is trying to implement that in their centers.
Cons:
1. With any transition, it takes time for things to get into a routine - which is understandable. In case of Educational Playcare with their experiences, I was personally hoping that the transition will be smoother and quicker. Unfortunately, even after 4 months, they seem to be struggling a bit regarding having the necessary teachers in the classrooms, and the toddlers are occasionally moved around between different classes - which does seem to project a sense of disorganization.
2. Due to the above mentioned reason, it has occasionally happened that the teachers between the different classes were not sure what my child ate or when; when she pooped or didn't which can become a bit tedious. Additionally, even though they seem to have a great curriculum set for each class, I am not sure how that gets effected with the switching around of the classes.
3. One thing that I miss greatly is the personal care and intimacy that the previous owner has created. The previous owner personally had been able to create wonderfully caring relationships with each child, almost becoming like an additional parent to them. Unfortunately, I don't see that at all with the current directors.
In conclusion, I do believe they have the potential of becoming better - but they do have some ways to go. I do hope the directors will take the time and initiative to build more personal relationships with the parents to get their feedback. read more
