We left in such urgency that my children didn't even have shoes. Thanks to Intellectuals, I was given two weeks of free childcare while waiting for assistance to be approved. Despite my children arriving without shoes, the kind and caring staff welcomed them with open arms. They asked for their shoe sizes, and when I returned later that day, each of my children had been gifted a brand-new pair of shoes. I was told the owners sent funds for the purchase -- I was in tears. The love and compassion shown to my family is something I'll never forget. My children love being here, and so do I. This center is a true community gem.

However, my understanding of business is that its to assist children but also to support parents. Unfortunately, based on my experience, this business operates in one of two ways: either it is focused on profit without the necessary empathy and grace required to serve families, or the individuals managing communication lack the professionalism and tact needed to engage with parents appropriately.To begin, my children truly enjoyed attending this childcare facility, and they had a positive experience with most of the staff, despite a few concerns. However, communication was an ongoing issue. On multiple occasions, my son was subjected to bullying, yet there was never a formal investigation, nor was there any follow-up to reassure parents.As a parent, especially one with children who are breastfed and come from a household with structure and rules, One of the rules in our home is limited screen time, and we are careful to ensure our children are not exposed to inappropriate or frightening content. However, older children at the facility were permitted to watch questionable material. When I raised my concerns, I was told that the matter would be addressed, but no response or follow-up was ever provided.Then came the issue of payment, which escalated matters. At 10 PM on a Wednesday, I was informed that my children could not return unless a co-pay was paid--a co-pay I had no prior knowledge of. While I fully accept financial responsibility and job and family services has admitted and apologized for the issue on their behalf we communicated this and, the situation became untenable when I attempted to restart services. It became increasingly difficult to get in touch with anyone.I was reassured by one of the owners that if I paid a part of the co-pay, my children would be able to return breifly but that payment arrangements would be able to be made. Prior to and After I made one of the payments, they blocked me. While I understand they operate 24 hours, giving me two hours to resolve such a significant financial issue is completely unreasonable and unprofessional.Despite hearing from others that communication was problematic at this facility, I initially dismissed those concerns. The staff always gave the impression of being empathetic and considerate. However, it became increasingly clear that the owners did not share the same values. They just require them. The exclusion,(blocking me) left me bewildered, especially since I had been consistently polite and professional in my interactions.In conclusion, while I am grateful for the kindness of the staff, them waiving the rest of our fees and dropping our children suddenly, and the overall operation of this business was extremely unprofessional. The facility operates as though they are simply collecting money without regard for the well-being of the families they serve. I am deeply disappointed. I can only hope that they will improve moving forward, for the sake of the families they serve.As of 2024, I would caution against using this facility. While I hope for their improvement, my personal experience has been difficult, and I will no longer be recommending this business to others. My sincerest apologies to anyone who may have taken my recommendation in the past.This is so stressful yall. If I didn't already know how some black people operate I would've lost my mind for sure. I do still send peace and blessings! I hope they can work this thing out ! So they continue to get the bag but that they have grace while they do it so that they don't end up on the other side of the grass. Lesson plans are made every week but are never followed, this means your children aren't learning anything. They don't work on any of the skills needed for kindergarten. The director talks to her staff like children and often the parents of students also. I do not recommend sending your child here.
