The 2 stars were for the general kindness of the staff & not the management. As this hospital is a leading medical facility in San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to your various advertisements, the type of service I expected from a reputed medical set up like yours was not acceptable. The staff at Hospital Auxilio Mutuo for the most part provided good care. The nurses stressed that each patient was a priority, which under normal circumstances would be true. No patient can be a priority when nurses have twelve to sixteen patients a shift. Your nurses' ability to truly provide caring nursing is an impossible feat when they are overburdened with more patients and their paperwork. Since I am a visitor to this beautiful island I made inquiries about the care given at your hospital only to find out that my experience was the norm and not the exception. I was told on several occasions that this is the way by all appearances your good catholic institution treats people seeking relief from complex ailments. I was really disappointed with my stay at your hospital and hope that you will look into this matter and take necessary corrective actions such as: * Honor the Hippocratic Oath of "Doing no harm" * Reduce the amount of patient to nurse ratio per shift * Apply Pain Management techniques based on providing comfort and not the color of a patient's skin Quote from Vanessa Marzán, director of the hospital's public relations, said the campaign underscores the importance of the relationship between the hospital and its patients. "We recognize that with today's new and diverse access to inform, patients can educate themselves about their health conditions and diagnoses," Marzán said. Patients, she added, can search for different alternatives to have control over their health. "The campaign aims to have a presence in the main channels of information that patients use, such as social networks, digital media, print and television." As you advertise provided services to the rest of the world as part of your medical tourism industry, experiences like mine should be the exception and not the norm. Regards, Caroline A. I went with Dr Rosbel Gonzales to have botox and Radiesse. First, this Dr did not made feel comfortable, she did not explained the procedure before or during the process. The put some ice on my face, I do not recall any topical anesthetic being used, the injections hurt so much I almost did not finish it. All she kept saying was "ohh... this is so strange.... well may be because the needle is a bit thicker" She did not offered any solution, more anesthetic etc. Well I went home with a swollen face,, when I came back one month later for a follow up and told her that I did not see any significant results, she told me, well I see you are disappointed, however at your age(51) you should have gotten 2 vile/syringes. I could not believe it ! I told her, As a doctor if you thought I would need 2 syringes, by the way about $700, why you did not tell me then ???? I would not have done anything at all. I would prefer to save the $1,500 for plastic surgery down the road. I'm not extending this review to all the Dr's in this place, but if they care about their patients they have to do better than that

Vital-Care, Aibonito April 19, 2016…read more Visited Vital-Care and found the place easy to locate by using their pin on their FB page and Google maps. We are NOT patients of Vital-Care and our opinions do not have any impact on the doctors onsite. These are purely observations. The place is located on a busy street which gives it maximum exposure to clients/vendors/patients. There are several parking spaces in front of the practice and the owners have plans to add more parking as their practice continues to grow. The waiting area is comfortable and airy with nice chairs, AC, magazines and a big flat screen TV. The staff is nice and professional. We were privileged to receive a personal tour from the owners. The offices are clean, organized, and airy. The owners have great big plans to continue to expand their presence in the town of Aibonito. Currently, Vital-Care offers general medicine, house visits, pick up service to Medicaid/Medicare patients, approved to provide medical services to VA patients. Vital-Care just added a gastroenterologist to their practice which sees/treats patients Wednesdays and Saturdays by appointment only. The owners plan to extend the gastroenterologist services to more days soon. In addition they also offer messages and reiki by appointment. Vital-Care has high-end equipment with the latest technology and advances by far surpassing most practices within the region. Big things are coming soon to Vital-Care and Aibonito!!

With over 20+ years of professional experience and a degree from the prestigious California College…read moreof Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Walsh is just about as good as it gets in the San Juan Metro Area. His Assistant Paula is especially efficient and was kind enough to provide me with a last-minute visit. The Doctor was very efficient, though I was surprised that he did not elect to take x-Rays of my left foot after I told him that a marble table had fallen on it, normally, one might want to rule out the possibility of a fracture before proceeding further. However, Dr. Walsh determined that indeed, plantar fasciitis was to blame for my foot pain and inability to walk. From there, we decided on a course of action and I received a steroid injection that did the trick! When it came time to pay for the bill, I was told it was "cash only", I was not made aware of this at any point, not when making my appointment and not upon entering the facility. Perhaps a note was posted on the wall (?) but I do not recall seeing one. You can imagine my surprise when the doctor, knowing that I did not have a car, asked that I go to the nearest ATM of which there were two located within 3-4 blocks of his office. QUÉ??? Minutes after a foot injection you want me to walk to an ATM??? So I hired an uber to get me to the nearest Gas Station ATM and paid the good Doctor his money. I strongly suggest that his office call Banco Popular without delay so that they can install an ATM machine within the confines of his office -- it's good for the patient's convenience, and then the Doctor can continue his "cash only" practice. He is an excellent Physician but the rest of my experience was a bit less than ideal. I guess the only proper alternative would have been for he and his staff to suggest that I rest my foot until I felt able to walk. But then again, it was almost quitting time so perhaps that was the reason for their sense of urgency. I should add that when I asked for the breakdown of the fee I was to pay, I was met with resistance and laughter, perhaps because the Doctor was kind enough to give me a $20 discount but still, that should not be a problem. The patient has a right to know regardless. That's just the way I was always taught.
