They have deliveries from a local baker as well that makes fabulous sour dough (Laughing Tree). They have also expanded their offerings on speciality cheeses and health products. Hansen Foods brings in produce from local farmers as well as canned goods from local producers. Prices are competitive especially for a small store. They're a little higher than the major grocery chain but it's nice to support local businesses. Staff are friendly and the owner wants to accommodate and evens does some special orders if a product is low or out of stock.

It is often very busy especially during summer months and so the prices tend to stay about the same. Staff is always friendly. The minute you walk in you're going to be hungry, even if you just ate. The house smoked and cured meats can literally be smelled in the parking lot. DGS has everything from local North Michigan specialities to fresh produce and an array of MI butchery products. The star of the show however is all their house made meats...
