Even if my insurance was not accepted, he would be willing to work out something since it's more important to help people with their pain. I can respect that. Not sure how crowded it gets, as I was there around 9 - 10 AM and it was very quiet. There was only one guy before me and when I left, no one else was waiting. By appointment only I believe. Responsive with their phone calls and flexible scheduling. Had a small seating area with magazines. The space was bright and clean -- minus the table of magazines. I filled out some basic paperwork before getting called in. From there, I spoke with Mike, discussed my problem areas and pain. Treatment room was also small, but clean. Had one of those beds or massage tables to lie down on. He was patient, listened without interrupting, and encouraged me to be as detailed as possible. I felt very comfortable and at ease with him as he examined my posture and body. He took the time to explain things to me, how the body worked, some reasons for my own personal pain, and did a general scope of what he would recommend for me in the future, such as some exercises for balance, some PT, and if things progressed or got worse, he could send me for a scan. I liked his approach, always trying to get to the root of the problem, and not once did he throw out a prescription for medication. I could tell it was more important to work on the body, strengthen it, to get rid of the pain entirely, not mask it. He also listened as I asked questions, what workouts were good, what to avoid, etc. I have not had the time to go back as of yet, as I have been in the middle of a move, but he's someone I would feel confident seeing again on a consistent basis.

I'm a new patient of Catherine Colaizzo, DC…read more My initial evaluation was done on February 21st. I was at work and I was in such pain I cold called the office and they said come right on over. They did an initial exam, and they requested x-rays before treatment (always good to be cautious) and I went to University Radiology. My first treatment was done on February 22nd. She reviewed the X-Rays with me, and explained my condition in detail. I have a chronic issue with my neck caused by 40 years of working at computer terminals and monitors. I was a 7/10 with constant pain in my neck and upper left shoulder. (I had been taking 3 Aleve a day for the previous 7 days and was still 7/10 pain level.) As a side note, I have a very high pain threshold. I missed no work during this time. The pain would wake me in the night 3-4 times per night. She developed a course of treatment. I agreed that I needed the treatment and I wanted to start right away. Her assistant then came in and professionally explained the billing options and cost based on my insurance. There were no surprises, and by paying for the first 20 sessions up front I would get a discount. I needed the treatment, so I selected that option. My first adjustment was helpful. Dr. Colaizzo explained that it wouldn't offer immediate relief, but it would be process that would gradually lower my pain and increase my ability to function. After my second adjustment on 2/24 my pain level over the weekend would be between a 0/10 and as bad as 5/10 for brief periods. I stopped taking the Aleve on 2/27. After three treatments more that week (2/27/17) my pain level is generally low (0-4/10). I sleep through the night. Dr. Colaizzo is cordial, caring, and professional. The office is well run. The office staff is friendly. My appointments are usually on my lunch break, and the team respects my time, and I really appreciate that.

I get there, finish my appointment and ask how much is my copay. The receptionist AND the chiropractor told me to make another appointment and that they will discuss the co-pays and all next time after they have spoken to my insurance company. Next appointment, I have a $50 copay (specialist copay). So I have to $100 which is fine, however, no one goes over ANYTHING with me including my treatment plan, etc. Dr. Holton himself even came up to me and said he will meet with me to go over blah blah. Anyway, a few appointments later, my back pain is worse, they take all of my money from my FSA, the chiropractor treating me is asking me if he gave me stretches, etc. If you are treating me, you should know that and have it on file, and no you never gave me anything. So fed up and don't want to go back, they call me at least 4 times to make another appointment! Dr. Holton even called me twice asking me when I am coming back. What is this, a sales job? I tend to have conservative expectations about Groupon massages, but this guy was incredible. Knowledgeable, gentle, very personable, great job making me feel comfortable, totally professional. I booked a series of three massages to work out a tough knot in my shoulder and he customized the treatment to focus on my needs. I got the impression that he really cared. Also, for ladies who aren't always comfortable with male therapists...zero creep factor. I think I've found my permanent guy. My boyfriend's series of 3 starts next month. I'm totally jealous :-) Just a note, he'll crack your back and neck unless you ask him not to do so. It was a little outside my comfort level and I mentioned that. He was totally cool and flexible and did straight massage from that point forward.
