Here's the most important thing - two hours of massage for £60.
I'll be honest, I giggled at the name when looking for a massage therapist who would/could work on a pregnant woman. But then a girl in my antenatal class mentioned that she had gotten a massage here and how fabulous it was. With that testimonial to mind, I booked an appointment.
As said before, the price is incredible for what it is. Anne works out of her home, is trained in massage but has also trained as a nurse and worked as a midwife (according to her website). She is lovely and puts you at ease right away, but also knows a *lot* about pregnant bodies and how to make them comfortable (a serious feat). Once you're thoroughly entombed in various pillows and supports, she massages one side at a time for 45 minutes each side.
I'm not one for sleeping during a massage but MAN was it hard not to drift off while she was working. I actually didn't want to because it was so amazing I didn't want to sleep through it.
For the final 30 minutes of the 2 hours, you sit in a comfy chair and can choose what you want her to do - she can do head, hands, feet, belly, etc.
I walked away thoroughly pummeled and relaxed. When you're heavily pregnant the extra weight you're carrying in the front is SO hard on your back, hips and legs and having these aches and pains worked out was so amazing I can't even describe it.
She doesn't just work on pregnant women (though I think there's a possibility she may only massage women) so I would definitely recommend her to anyone. I've already referred several pregnant women to her and they've all come away feeling blissful. read more
