This was the second time I've visited this market. It's a little different from the first visit but still very beautiful. Situated right in the heart of Edinburgh Princes St Garden with a view of the castle, the market is bustling with locals and tourists from everywhere. This year entrance we had to walk toward old town to enter. The pathways starts with stalls and vendors of trinkets and gifts. Of course I come for the fun food tasting. There's the carousel that's alway seemed to put everyone in the holiday mood. Whats also very festive, there's holidays lights everywhere. The season of lights, laughter and good company.
You just continue on the walkway for the whole market. For some reason it seemed a little smaller this years compared to others. But maybe I didn't get to check out the rest prior years. There's guards that's placed throughout the venue to keep guest on the pathway. Of course you have the Edinburgh sign that's picture perfect. But the main market is at the top. The stalls are all pretty much one after the other. Lots of holidays gift and souvenirs stalls. There were many stalls of food ranging from sweets to savory. It's sort of a must to have everything just to say that you've tried it. Don't forget the alcohol stalls. There were a couple places along the market. Have to keep the adults entertained and warm....Lol..
You can't have a Christmas market without the rides. Have to keep the kids entertained. Even when it's freezing, there's something about rides that still get people on them. You have the massive high swings that take people up. From there, it's the million dollar view. Seeing everything all lighted up for the holidays is spectacular. Edinburgh sure knows how to get into the holiday spirit. As there's many Christmas market all over Europe, to say I've been to the one in Edinburgh is an amazing opportunity. read more
