Edible Experiences - they couldn't have chosen a better name for their service: whether it's food walking tours, cooking/baking classes or supper clubs - all they have in common is that they unite foodies from all over London and make them have a novel & unique experience around food - brilliant!
A while back I've met Wen, the founder of Edible Experiences, for a coffee and while we were sitting on the bank of the Thames over some Monmouth Coffee, she told me about her website and the kinds of services that she offers. And while she was talking, I remembered that I still had to plan a company outing later in the month...Bingo! Why not take my colleagues out for a supper club? I mean, you always do the same thing: going to a restaurant, order food, and then go home. So why not swap the order a bit: pre-order food, go to someone's home and have a food-experience that equals, if not even surpasses, a restaurant-experience?
A few days later, I had an email from Wen waiting in my inbox with the menus from two potential supper clubs: an Italian and a Vietnamese. While both sounded awfully delicious, I went with the more exotic one: Vietnamese. And it was perfect, as you can read up in my review about "Table for 10".
Having had such a positive experience, I reached out to Wen again next time I needed to plan a company party and this time it was a bigger one: our Christmas Party for about 50 people. Just like last time, I met up with Wen and we discussed what kind of things I was looking for. I mentioned that I really wanted to have some kind of "interactive experiences involving food" for the party and so she send me a list of various options: one of them creating an Asian Street Food Market, where we can all assemble the food items ourselves. I really loved this idea and now that we'd picked the theme, we needed to find a venue that would go along with this as well.
And here Wen didn't disappoint either and she suggested to host our party in one of the greenhouses of the Clifton Nurseries in Maida Vale: what a brillant idea and location that turned out to be! And in conjunction with the Two Hungry Girls (see separate review), we had the most amazing Christmas Party...ever!
What I really appreciate about Wen is her organisational skills...she really made sure that at no point in time did I ever feel like I needed to check and see if everything was under control...in fact, Wen was always proactive and sent emails to all parties involved making sure that the evening would flow as planned. read more
