My husband was working out of the country, and decided to send me an edible arrangement. My delivery driver left my arrangement inside of my parking garage. When I got home the fruit had turned brown, the chocolate was melted and there was a ton of condensation inside of my package. My fruit was mushy, and my chocolate covered strawberries were already rancid by the time I tried to eat them. I called their shop and left a message. Nobody called me back. Wow! I wish I would have looked this place up on Yelp before I ordered my arrangement. It's my friends Bday! Yay! Birthdays are special! Especially when you want to surprise someone on their most special day. I had the master plan. Let's pretend that I "forget" about my bffs bday. I order what looks to be a beautiful bday arrangement! OMG!!! I'm so excited, she's gonna love it!!!!!! I go to work, excited like a kid, ready for my bff to get her fruit. Hooray! I get an email that it's been Delivered! Whoop whoop! I wait a while...hmmmmmm. That's strange my bff doesn't text me. Odd. I wait until 10 p.m. EST to text her. I'm thinking, shoot, is she allergic to fruit? Is it ugly? Did it come to her too small? Was it cheesy? Oh no, what happen. She must not have liked it... I get scared. I text Happy Bday hope you liked the fruit. Followed by fruit emojis. She text back, "what fruit".... Yup folks, there you have it. A ruined BDay. I called today to ask to speak to the manager. The owner wasn't there. Okay, so the lady tells me that they talked to my friend and she's picking it up. Interesting. My friend hasn't told me that. The lady says she made the arrangement fresh. I tell her that my friend has not stated that she's picking it up. So I ask can I get a refund. Her birthday was yesterday. Why would you ask a recipient of a gift to pick it up if I ordered it for delivery??? No way!!!!! It's later and I've spoken with my bff. Looks like she never even talked to this place until the evening. How in the world can they do business this way????? This is my second time having issues with orders from this franchise. It's sad.... well. Lesson learned! If you want a good gift for someone, save yourself the headache, embarrassment and hassle. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeez for almost $100 per item you'd think they'd do better. Revision: I went by the store and spoke with manager Andre. He was very accommodating and apologetic and offered to make it right. He made fresh arrangement while I waited. This shows the actual store's commitment to quality and I applaud them for making this right. Original review: This was ordered for my mother after surgery. We took the item directly from the delivery person. The delivery vehicle was a private vehicle and was filthy. She took the arrangement out of a cooler where it was on its side. It was warm. The chocolate melted and the fruit warm. She took off before we could even tell her about it. We took the temp of the fruit and it was 77 degrees! UN-EDIBLE ARRANGEMENT! I made a complaint online. 5 calls the next day from a store in NY. Evidently where the group franchise is owned. The guy who answered the phone was rude and basically berated me for calling his store. I had to call the main headquarters office and they wanted to transfer me to the store in NY. I refused because of the encounter with the guy there. What kind of company is this? They wanted me to take the nasty arrangement back to the store and pick up a new one!!!! If I could've selected zero stars I would have. I ordered an edible arrangement for my daughter as a gift and had it delivered by the store. It was delivered with slimy fruit and over ripe pineapple. I called the store as did my daughter and spoke with Julie who is the most argumentative individual I've ever dealt with as a customer. She claims she is a fruit expert and that the fruit was perfectly fine and refused to send a new arrangement or refund my money. I've dealt with multiple edible arrangement locations over the years. They've all delivered amazing quality fruit. I've never had someone fight with a customer the way Julie did. I would recommend you don't use this store for the quality of the fruit is not up to that of the edible arrangement brand and should you have an issue with your order you'll have to deal with Julie. read more

I purchased a dozen chocolate covered strawberries for $32 from the shop on Broad Street on Valentine's Day. I got home and the fruit was sour I then I went Harris Teeter and purchased a dozen of their chocolate covered strawberries for $12.99, they were succulent. Never again will I be going back to that Edible Arrangements. Over priced, the fruit is not sweet at all. Stick with Harris Teeter. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews as I believe people can have a bad day. But my experience here was so unthinkable I wouldn't want my worst enemy to go through this. I went here once in 2018 and picked up the fruit from a kind and helpful African American man who said he was the owner. Earlier this week I returned around 5pm and an Israeli man on the phone behind the counter barked at me "We're closed!" I was wide eyed and taken aback by his hateful tone and turned to leave--even thinking I had walked in on a robbery perhaps. Then surprisingly he stated he would help me anyway when he finished up the phone (like he was doing me a big favor.) So I waited a minute or two then I decided to save time and just choose the $5 chocolate covered strawberry cups from the display fridge (as I had been instructed to do before by the owner), thinking perhaps he could use the register while on the phone. Them he began shouting over his phone call that I shouldn't go in there and went on an entire man-splaining (or negro-splaining?) rant that I found shocklingly condescending, rude, and intimidating. I began regretting my decision to come here. The he told the person on the phone to hold on and came over to the fridge and blocked me (bodily) while opening the door (as I was unclean or he thought I might steal some $5 strawberry cups and run off with them!) and demanding "what do you want? which one?!) I replied that I could not know unless I saw them or he told me the flavors (that he was blocking from my view as if I might breath ebola on the plastic covered cups. He sighed heavily and began looking through them to tell me the kinds of chocolate covered fruit were in the little cups. I was so shocked I just chose any two and he took them to the register mansplaining all the while some nonsense about how wrong I was to open the door to the display fridge (that stands inside the business infront of the counter and next to the front door). Then he had the nerve to ask me to call him to order in the future. His customer service skills were like minus 20, so I told him I'd be dealing with the owner from now on because I preferred the way her treated me. Then he (with customer still on the phone mind you) began to quiz me on if I even knew the owner (so belittling and condescending!) then he mocked the black man and smirked and told me "That guy is not really the owner, so you should order with me." He clearly thought very little of the black man. I got the feeling he wanted me to think that HE himself was the owner, so I asked him if he was. Reluctantly he said no. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. My husband was waiting outside in the car. When I got in the car I was so upset that for the next 5 minutes to explain to him "what took so long" to pick up to cups from the fridge from an empty store, and how I felt discriminated against as a woman or as a person of color (it was hard to tell which intersectional part of me the man despised more). Then as we were pulling the car out the same guy appeared tapping at my passenger window offering me a sample strawberry, like would make up for my dignity. Mind you, he never apologized. I refused and then he offered it to my husband who was beyond offended. We believe the man was initially nasty because I was a black women alone (and whatever he thought that meant as far as how rude he could be to me) and became suddenly (1 free-$1-strawberry) kind when he realized my husband was white. It was all so painful and humiliating. Nothing like this ever happened to me in Durham before. On top of everything the strawberries were wet and very unlovingly (and cheaply) prepared, basically half dipped in chocolate, half out. Along with the bad vibes we got from that man, we couldn't bring ourselves to eat them and just threw them away. Nearly a week later and it still hurts to think about. Unfortunately, I did not get either man's names and I apologize for my generic descriptors of "African American and Israeli guys". But there is ever only 1 person working behind the 6ft long counter, and this was in mid-March 2019-so, if anyone cares to, it should be easy to find out who I'm talking about. We still don't know who the owner is, but this location clearly has a few problems with vetting, training and hiring their workers. I assume this is a franchise, but still, how can this guy get the chance to ruin customer trust in this brand this way? We will never patronize this or any other edible arrangements again, much less send their local Durham hate baskets to people we care about. read more
