BAD EXPERIENCE at Shawnessy location. I received an email wishing me a Happy Birthday and offering me a free 12 piece box of chocolate dipped fruit. I went to the Shawnessy location during my lunch hour to redeem my gift and buy an arrangement for a friend recovering from surgery. The attractive grey haired lady didn't greet me with a smile so perhaps she was having a bad day before I entered. Suddenly - the email which I showed her on my phone with the appropriate code to redeem the gift - was laden with rules that she seemed to make up on the spot. 1.) She input my phone number and although my name, which I had not given her, came up she told me that she had no information about me or any orders ? *so my name isn't sufficient? 2.) I hadn't ordered at her location in the past year. Email didn't mention restrictions... other than 3.) This "Offer good through your birthday month"... suddenly became, according to her, BEFORE the end of the month, and since today was May 31 - that meant that YESTERDAY; May 30 was the last day this offer would be good... so my birthday being May 31 - offer not valid? And FINALLY 4.) "Oh... it must have come from a .com website". What the??? Such a lost opportunity to offer good customer service - such as; "Happy Birthday! Oh I see this a 'dot.com' website! That doesn't really apply to us, so feel free to unsubscribe so you don't get this next year... but in the meantime - let's get you my finest chocolate dipped fruit so you can celebrate in style! And what else can I get you today?" $$$ Instead, I left mad due to the inconvenience of driving to this location and leaving empty handed, and the rudeness of this owner/employee making up lies on the spot so as to not fulfil the promise from a company I recognize (as not an employee of Edible Arrangements) to be her. I like[d] edible arrangements to this point. I have sent them across Canada, and have had them delivered to me. SHAWNESSY location will now be my last resort for future purchases. I wonder if this lost future business was worth the cost of the promised box of fruit? VERY DISAPPOINTED! VERY DISAPPOINTING! read more

I have used them more than once trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. EVERY SINGLE TIME I've used them they have messed up or forgot things I have ordered which is not cheap. NEVER EVER USE THEM read more

I am greatly disappointed and will never order from them again. My order was over $133.00 and was for my adult son's birthday in Calgary. I paid $7.00 to include a foil birthday balloon, (which is only $1.50 elsewhere, so ridiculous price), and it was not included in the delivery. I phoned the store and the message said to leave a name and number for a call back. I did and said what had happened, but no one bothered to call me. Then I sent an email and did not get a response to that either. They can't even be bothered to apologize or even discuss with me their careless error. For that kind of money, I can get a much better present elsewhere next time. read more

I walked into the downtown store to pick up 2 boxes of chocolate-dipped mixed fruit and they were so accommodating. All I had to do was to come back in 15 minutes and I walked away with my 2 freshly made boxes of delicious, fresh fruit for my friend. I would definitely use the Downtown store again!! read more

I've been using Edible since they've opened up downtown a few years ago and have ordered quite a few baskets from them for my girlfriend, family (great for mother and fathers day) and even purchased it for my employees. The great thing about this place is not only do the baskets look amazing (these baskets definitely have a great wow factor!), but the fruit is actually good for you. The staff were quite knowledgeball, helpfut and were also able to guide me to the right basket size and the right arrangement. I would recommend this as a much better alternative to flowers or chocolate, and trust me the people who you give this to will not be dissappointed. read more

I have used edible arrangements a number of times when sending gift baskets for special occasions in lieu of flowers. For me, this is a perfect gift to send to a family, or to a friend at the office, because they do need to be eaten or refridgerated fairly quickly. They are a feast for the eyes and they are totally healthy. I have ordered online each time I have done business with them, and I have both delivered, and picked up. The staff are extremely friendly. They are located right on 7th Avenue SW right across from Scotia Center, so parking is best done in the Bay Parkade if you are picking up. If you are looking for a unique gift, definately consider Edible Arrangements. Just be aware that the arrangements are a fair size, and they do need to be refridgerated soon to keep from wilting, so they are best sent where they will be eaten. read more

There are two Edible Arrangement locations in Calgary: - 228 , 250 7th Ave. S.W. (Downtown) - 35 High Street S.E. (McKenzie Town Centre) I received my first edible arrangement when I started my new job back in April. The receptionist called me and said I had something waiting for me upstairs, so I quickly ran up and was flabbergasted!! A beautiful arrangement of fruits!! First I had thought it was from my other half, but then I read the card it came with: "You probably think this is from Spencer, but nope...it's from your good ol' sis Nat!" I laughed because it was exactly what I was thinking and she was all the way in Manitoba! Next, it was a friends birthday... I had no idea what to get her, and edible arrangements came to mind. I went onto their website (http://www.ediblearrangements.ca/fruit-baskets.aspx) and you can look at the arrangements and order online! So convenient!! You can either pick up your order at the location or have it delivered (add $12). You pay right online and its a very easy process, step by step! If you have a time you want them to deliver or don't want them to deliver, you can just put a delivery note with instructions. (But they can't guarentee delivery times!) They also send you an invoice by email. The cool thing is, I went online in the afternoon and had it delivered the SAME DAY! If you know that the person receiving the arrangment doesn't like certain fruits, you can customize the arrangement. Edible arrangements is a great way to show your appreciation, congratulations, love or just because. The assortment of arrangements they offer is outstanding!! And you can order for people in other provinces (AB, BC, MB, NB, NS, ON, QC, SK) ....It's as good as it gets! read more

The doorbell rings and fruit lands on your doorstep! What a great idea! My husband just received a beautifully artistic fruit arrangement from a well wisher - a total surprise as well. This is sooooo-o-o much better than getting flowers and way yummier than roses or tulips, which tend to be a tad dry in comparison, dontcha know. What a blast! You know when you get flowers, you think "How nice. Mr. or Mrs. "X" was thinking of me. So. What happens now - I guess I'll just sit and watch them die a slow wilty death. Hmmm...Now I feel better, maybe." But fruit - cool, juicy, pretty to look at before it disappears in glorious delight down your throat ( relieving the soreness from intubation at the same time, yaah). Flowers can't do that, right? All it took was one look at the fruit arrangement and I was hooked. You might wonder if I've been living on another planet but it never occurred to me to check into fruit arrangements. Now I know. Next time I want to make someone feel better, Edible Arrangements is what I'll send. For real. read more

I have purchased several baskets and arrangements over the years and I was so pleased with the one that I had before Christmas ( from the downtown location) that I planned to write a thank you card to the artists at that shop. I never did get around to writing and sending a card, but hopefully it isn't too late to write my appreciation online. The snowmen were so cute and the kids loved them. I got to eat some from the basket too and the wreath ( chocolate - covered apple slices nicely decorated) were my favourite. The chocolate covered bananas are amazing too. I don't know what type of chocolate is used, but combined with the great quality fruit, it is simply heavenly. The presentation was eye-catching and enjoyed by all. I also think the Customer Service was excellent every time I ordered- whether by phone or the times I came by in person. read more

Agree with other reviewers on EA. I've both received and ordered from EA. I received my first bouquet after the birth of my son and enjoyed the healthy thoughtful snack for energy boosts! I sent a big baskets after staying with friends with kids. The kids loved it and of course so did the parents. Something for the whole family. Plus delivery and customer service very good. read more

I called to suprise a friend nad they guy asked me for my address then I told him it wasn't going to me, then he yelled I need your info for some reason and went off!!!! This company has no concept of customer service. We had paid top dollar to send a beautiful arrangement to my grand daughter who had a terrible fall. This delivery boy left it at a neighbour without telling us where it was , said a message had been left on the answering machine ( thay have no answering machine) and we spent a lot of our time tracking this down. There was no apology and basically said it was up to my grand daughter to go over to the neighbours to get it . ( Even Canada Post will leave a notice when they leave a parcel somewhere else) As far as Im concerned they need a wake up call for their P.R. read more

The arrangement looks artistically done, but the fruit has absolutely no taste. Melons and strawberries are not sweet. The pineapple is covered in chocolate so they are super sweet. If you are going to make these...buy fruit that is in season. Who wants to eat tastless food, no matter how pretty read more

My mother sent this to me for Christmas. She said "I hope you liked it because it was expensive." It's a great idea for something different and it's very pretty, but fruit is seasonal, and a fruit arrangement in Canada in December just doesn't work. The fruit is peeled so it's already deteriorating while in transit. If you wait a day or two to eat it, forget it. We took a couple bites, and then froze it all and made fruit leather in the dehydrator. At least it didn't go to waste. read more
